Discover a variety of the most
powerful and effective
Spiritual Warfare Prayers.
The Supreme God - Creator of the Universe answers prayer in spectacular
and extraordinary ways! He will: 1) Transform lives. 2) Display
extraordinary miracles.
3) Guide and strengthen. 4) Protect. 5) Save. 6) Grant deliverance from evil
spirits.
7) Destroy witchcraft. 8) Provide release from curses. 9)
Grant us victory over all our enemies. 10) Fulfill His promises.
Turn the world upside down! Christ has already defeated Satan and the whole
kingdom of darkness, on the cross. He has
given us the victory in our Christian lives. Get powerful and real results -
don't delay become a spiritual warrior today!
We are chosen by God to be good soldiers of Christ Jesus!
How are we protected from Satanic/demonic/witchcraft attacks?
Firstly and most importantly, Jesus Christ defeated the whole kingdom of
darkness, and won an overwhelming victory, by disarming principalities and
powers at the cross. Jesus Christ is the victor. He is conqueror. Jesus
triumphed over all His foes, and He has given us complete victory over every foe
in our lives. This includes victory over Satan, demons, and the whole kingdom of
darkness, and victory over all works of darkness, including witchcraft.
Therefore, satan and his demons, witches and warlocks have absolutely NO power
and NO authority over our lives.
We have completely surrendered our lives to the will of God, through repentance,
and therefore, only God the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, Master,
Savior and Redeemer, have power and authority in our lives. Our lives are in
God's hands, for God to mould, shape and transform us into the kind of people He wants
us to be - more conformed to the image of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. There is
only one Lord of our lives, hearts, minds, bodies, health and ministry, and His
Name is Jesus Christ. He is in full control of our lives, because we have
surrendered our lives to Him completely - to do God's will.
Romans 12:1-2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which
is your reasonable service.
And
be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
God.
Therefore, satan and his demons cannot
operate in our lives. Jesus Christ has also given us authority over unclean
spirits.
Luke 10:19 - I have given you
authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of
the enemy; nothing will harm you.
We have four exceedingly powerful key
phrases in the scriptures below:
1) Jesus Christ fully disarmed principalities and powers - this
includes satan, demons and the whole kingdom of darkness.
2) Jesus Christ fully delivered us from the power of darkness -
this includes satan, demons and the whole kingdom of darkness.
3) Jesus Christ fully destroyed the devil and all of his evil works,
including the works of demons, witchcraft and all other works of darkness.
4) Every knee shall bow to Jesus Christ, including those who
under the earth, which are demons. Every knee should, must, and will bow to
Jesus Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords - the official title of Jesus
Christ at His return, to establish His glorious Kingdom here on this earth,
where Christ will reign with His true saints -
Revelation 5:10 - You have
made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on
the earth."
Philippians 2:9-11 - Therefore God
has also highly exalted Him and given Him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those
on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Colossians 1:13 - He has delivered
us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of
His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin."
Colossians 2:15 - "Having
disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them in it."
Hebrews 2:14 - that
through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the
devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage.
1 John 3:8 - ... "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He
might destroy the works of the devil."
We must realize who we are in Christ Jesus. We are the children of God who have
been given complete victory in all aspects of our Christian lives - including
victory over sin, temptations, the world, every sickness and disease, and death,
through Jesus Christ's holy, precious, divine blood and perfect sacrifice for
the forgiveness of our sins. We are redeemed from sin, through Jesus' precious
blood. This does not mean that we continue in a life of sin. We must abstain
from sexual immorality in all its forms, and live a life of obedience to God.
The grace of God, does not give one a license to sin -
Romans 6:1-2
and Jude 1:4.
We are the sanctified children
of God, which means set apart and made holy for God. We belong to God, we do not
belong to ourselves, or to anyone else. Therefore we glorify and honor God with
our body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We must live holy lives for God,
so that there are no legal grounds for satan and his demons to operate in our
lives. This is why repentance is so crucial, so that we are in a right
relationship with God. Unrepentance (Unconfessed and unrenounced sin) separates
people from God. We must never cherish sin in our hearts
Psalm 66:18-20.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a
man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own
body.
Do you not know that your body is a temple
of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not
your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Psalm 103:12
- as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions
form us.
Isaiah 1:18 - "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though
your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red
as crimson, they shall be like wool.
1 Peter 2:24 - He Himself bore our
sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for
righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
1 John 1:9 - If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from
all unrighteousness.
Scriptures state that every child of God
overcomes the world.
Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon forged
against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication
from me," declared the LORD.
1 John 4:4 - You, dear children, are
from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than
the one who is in the world.
1 John 5:4-5 - for every begotten child of God overcomes the world. This
is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that
overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
The shield of faith is also part of the
armor of God, as stated in
Ephesians 6:10-18.
Through repentance and
total, unconditional surrender of our lives to God, we are demonstrating that we
are walking in the light, as God is in the light, and that we are completely
submitting our lives to Him, and are in a right relationship with Him.
1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in
the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
We must put on the whole armor of God, as mentioned in
Ephesians 6:10-18.
The six pieces of armor include: 1)
Helmet of salvation; 2) Breastplate of righteousness; 3)
Shield of faith; 4) Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of
God; 5) Belt of truth; 6) Shoes of the readiness to
announce the Gospel of peace. Prayer is also part of
our intimate, personal relationship with God. This is so crucial, as satan and
his demons will flee, once we submit our lives to God, and resist the devil.
James 4:7-8 - Submit yourselves,
then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and
he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts
you double-minded.
We must follow Jesus Christ's example,
where He resisted satan's temptations in
Matthew 4:4,
by quoting Scriptures. As the children of God, we too,
must use the sword of the Spirit, which is the very powerful, living and active
word of God
Hebrews 4:12.
Quoting battle verses (e.g.
Isaiah 54:17; Psalm 44:5; Luke 10:19;
Philippians 2:9-11;
Colossians 1:13; 2:15; 2 Thessalonians 3:3; Hebrews 2:14;
and
1 John 3:8)
and going on the offensive
against satan and his demons, is a very powerful strategy in our spiritual
warfare.
We must quote the right
scripture at the right time, just like Jesus did, when He faced Satan's
temptations. He knew the appropriate scriptures to quote. If Satan and his
demons try and come against us, they will have no power over us, because Jesus
Christ defeated Satan and the whole kingdom of darkness, at the cross. He
destroyed the works of the devil
Col 1:13; 2:15;
1 Jn 3:8.
As God's children, greater is he who is in
us, than he who is in the world
1 John 4:4; 5:4.
If satan tries to remind you of your past, then remind him of his future. The
destiny of satan and his demons is the lake of fire
Revelation 20:10 - And the devil,
who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast
and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for
ever and ever.
Also, quote the Scriptures where
you have been bought with a price, with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, who
has redeemed us from all our sins through His perfect sacrifice.
Colossians 1:13 - He has delivered
us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of
His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin."
1 John 1:9 - If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from
all unrighteousness.
Remember: I try to
fit in as much information as I can, onto small pamphlets. Usually, tracts don't
contain very much information. They include a lot of spaces and scriptures. My
gospel tracts include specific information, and scriptural references, and my
websites contain links to different Bible versions. This encourages the reader
to look up the scriptures themselves, using various Bible translations.
Spiritual Warfare Prayers
must be part of our daily walk and fellowship
with God. This is how we demonstrate our commitment, devotion and dedication to
God. In order to have a successful prayer life we must never cherish sin in our
hearts. The very first step is true, heartfelt repentance -
Read Tracts:
'Repent or Perish!'
&
'Powerful and Effective Prayer!' &
'Power
Of Fasting!'
You cannot
bypass
this first crucial step. God will only answer the prayers of those who humble
themselves, seek Him with their whole heart, and repent! Also, prayer in
combination with fasting will provide even more powerful results, and may even
speed the answers to our prayers!
Our
Spiritual Warfare Prayers
must be in line with scripture. We must pray according to
God's will. You will only know about God's will if you study His Word.
We never mumble a few memorized prayers and expect God to answer. They are not from the heart.
God desires heartfelt prayer - we mean what we say. Prayer must be straight from
the heart.
The most powerful
Spiritual Warfare Prayers are the
ones in which we quote scripture. The word of God becomes a powerful spiritual
sword in the hands of warriors who quote scripture. This is how we resist
Satan's attacks!
As we strengthen the bond in our relationship with Almighty God, our
Spiritual Warfare Prayers become even more powerful

What is prayer?
* Prayer is conversation with God where we pour out our hearts to Him
and express our innermost feelings and emotions in open, honest
communication. Prayer is a serious lifetime commitment and requires passion,
devotion, dedication, determination, self-discipline, faith, great
patience, perseverance, endurance and stamina.
* Please download
New
Prayer Notebook
and read tract entitled 'powerful
and effective prayer' to read more about prayer, and how to make
preparations.
How
powerful is it?
* Prayer is exciting and can have a
powerful effect over cities and nations. Prayer gives us victory in our
Christian lives, including victory: 1) Over all our enemies (human,
satanic and demonic); 2) In overcoming and turning the world upside down! This is exciting!
Romans 8:37 -
No, in all these things we are
more than conquerors through him who loved us.
1 John 5:4 - for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is
the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
* The most powerful and effective spiritual weapon in a Christian's
life, when we: 1) Repent. 2) Are in a right spiritual relationship with God our Father
and His Son Jesus Christ. 3) Totally commit, devote and dedicate our
entire lives to God. 4) Are living a life of holiness, godliness,
purity, truth and righteousness. This is definitely exciting!
James 5:16 -
Therefore confess your sins to
each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer
of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
* Extraordinary things were
accomplished through faith as we read in:
Hebrews
11:33-34 -
who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained
what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of
the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned
to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign
armies.
* God uses His ordinary servants to accomplish extraordinary miracles.
Prayer is known to bring the greatest of the giants down. All kinds of
miracles happen, including: 1) Victory in battles; 2) Lions mouths getting shut;
3) Walking
through the fire and not being burned; 4) Fire coming down from heaven;
5) Heavens
being shut and no rain falling; 6) Enemies destroyed; 7) Death and
destruction, etc.
Matthew 19:26 - Jesus looked at them and said,
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
We will know that our prayers are powerful and effective when Satan
tries to use different methods to distract and divert our attention away
from prayer, through his servants. His main weapons are: deception, temptation,
doubt, discouragement and intimidation.
Psalm 7:9-17 -
Bring to an end
the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure— you, the
righteous God who probes minds and hearts. My shield is God Most High,
who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, a God who
displays his wrath every day. If he does not relent, he will sharpen his
sword; he will bend and string his bow. He has prepared his deadly
weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows. Whoever is pregnant with
evil conceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment. Whoever digs
a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. The trouble
they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own
heads. I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I
will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High.
In the Bible, twenty-three thousand died in one day because of the sin of sexual
immorality. As you see, this is a grave sin in God's sight and carries the
heaviest of penalties.
1 Corinthians 10:8 -
We should not commit sexual
immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them
died.
I don't please the world. I please God, and I conform to God's highest
standards for my life - no compromise! I DO NOT conform to this evil world. God
loves me and I love Him, and there is nothing you say that will change that!
I love to be unique and completely different to this world. I'm set apart and
made holy for God!
God's people
conform to God's highest standards;
and don't form alliances with the world. We
never conform to the world's standards. No compromise!
Do what God says; don't listen to what the
world says. There must be a powerful contrast in the lifestyle of godly people,
and this world.
Godly people live a life of abstinence from the sinful "pleasures" of this
world.
I live a life of abstinence from fornication. I love
abstinence! God and Jesus means everything to me! No one and nothing compares to
my precious Lord Jesus Christ. I totally commit, devote and dedicate my entire
life to Him!
I've left that miserable world
behind me (over 20 years, although I've never been deeply involved in anything worldly) many years ago, that I
may gain my precious Lord Jesus Christ (holy kiss for my Lord and Savior, who is
so beautiful, glorious and majestic, and is returning with great glory and
power). In doing so, I've demonstrated that I DO NOT love the world or the
things of this world; and I've also demonstrated my TRUE LOVE and complete
faithfulness, passion, devotion, dedication and commitment to my PRECIOUS LORD
who is the Almighty God! I live a life of holiness and godliness.
Psalm
66:18-20 -
If I had cherished sin in my
heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and
heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my
prayer or withheld his love from me!
We overcome (triumph over and defeat) the
world by means of our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!
Faithful remnants, it is so crucial that we wait for God's plan to be
fulfilled in our lives. No matter the waiting period. Wait for the Lord
to act. Remember, God is able to do for us instantly and superabundantly, above
all we ask, think or imagine, what we are unable to achieve in a
lifetime all by ourselves. God's promise stands. God's plan and
purpose always prevails!
Always remember: Focus on God. There
is no one like Almighty God. Nothing and no one compares to Him and His
mighty power! His power is supreme and unlimited. There is nothing He
cannot do!
Continue to pray, study the Bible, read encouraging and inspirational
scriptures.
This is just the beginning of what God has in store with His miraculous,
mighty power! There will be a very powerful spiritual awakening indeed!
We live for God and live to do His will!
* God confirms my ministry work with
awesome, miracles, signs and wonders, as I have His anointing in my
life.
Psalm 27:14 - Wait
for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
Psalm 77:14 - You are the God who performs miracles; you display
your power among the peoples.
Psalm 130:6 - My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait
for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Isaiah 26:8 - Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait
for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.
Isaiah 30:18 - Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises
to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are
all who wait for him!
1 John 5:4 - for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is
the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Bible example:
Elijah prayed that it would not rain on the earth for three and a half
years and it did not rain.
Then he prayed again and the heavens poured down rain.
James 5:17-18 -
Elijah was a human being, even as
we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain
on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens
gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

I encourage you to pray the
anti-witchcraft prayers daily, and never give up! Please make a
copy and send to as many people as you can!
The best thing to do is to record the
anti-witchcraft prayers and spiritual warfare prayer on tape. Run the tape
through daily, from morning to evening, and combine with regular fasting for
best results! This is highly powerful and effective!
Deuteronomy 32:30 -
How could one man chase a
thousand,
or two put ten thousand to
flight, unless their Rock had sold
them, unless the
Lord had given
them up?
Pray the anti-witchcraft prayers daily. Prayer must be your lifetime
commitment. You must pray at least 3 times a day. Since the first day I
began an intimate relationship with God, I have made prayer a serious
part of my daily fellowship with God. Remember: You must
begin with repentance - the first crucial step. (Read tract 'Repent
or Perish!' on merchandise page).
How powerful and effective your prayers are will depend upon whether you
have repented; are in a right relationship with God; live in obedience
to God's commandments - a life of holiness and godliness. You must
crucify the sinful, carnal nature. Do not conform to the evil ways of
this world.
This means abstinence from sinful "pleasures." Abstinence from
fornication is crucial in a powerful and effective prayer life!
God commands us to flee from fornication (grave sin).
1 Corinthians
6:18-20 -
Flee from sexual immorality.
All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins
against his own body.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,
whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.
You must be extremely careful because there are different kinds of
demons that exist, and some demons come out only by prayer and
fasting (Read Tract: "You Can Be Set Free!"). You must study God's Word to be fully informed, as people are
destroyed for lack of spiritual knowledge! The churches are
lukewarm (Laodicean era), prior to Christ's Return, and the Bible needs to be
explained and understood, and there are very few true, faithful ministers
fulfilling their responsibilities. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out
workers into His harvest field.
I would like to see more Christians actively involved in preaching the true
Gospel - with zeal, passion, fervor and enthusiasm.
A Word Of Caution To The Righteous:
Be very careful, Be
very sober, Be very vigilant! Pray,
Seek spiritual
knowledge, study the Bible daily - Only God can save your life!
Draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you.
The wicked are continuously spying on the righteous seeking their very lives as
Psalm 37
clearly mentions. They seek to slay the righteous any opportunity they get! There was a personal vendetta (lasting hostility) against me
since childhood. God thwarted the wicked's (my enemies') evil plans against me
- plans of prostitution, disease, drugs and suicide. We must never let our
guards down!
Psalm 37:12
-
The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;
Psalm 37:14-15 - The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to
bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. But their
swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
Contrary to popular belief, God is not saving the world
now (otherwise, the whole world would be Christian); He is only saving His elect (chosen few)
- a
remnant of true believers who are called out of the world, and out of the
lukewarm churches. They are the ones who are obeying God's commandments, living
according to His word, and serving Him faithfully and wholeheartedly. God's true
Church has always been a faithful few:
Matthew 7:13-14
- The Narrow and Wide Gates “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate
and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But
small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find
it.
Luke 12:32 -
Fear not, little flock; for it
is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
SCRIPTURES ON FASTING:
Matthew 17:20-21 -
And Jesus said unto them,
Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain
of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place;
and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Howbeit this kind goeth not out
but by prayer and fasting.
Mark 9:29 -
And he said unto them, This kind
can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
SCRIPTURES ON SORCERY:
Exodus 22:18 -
“Do
not allow a sorceress to live.
Leviticus 19:26-32 -
“‘Do
not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
“‘Do not practice divination or sorcery.
“‘Do
not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
“‘Do
not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the
Lord.
“‘Do
not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to
prostitution and be filled with wickedness.
“‘Observe
my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the
Lord.
“‘Do
not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I
am the Lord
your God.
“‘Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect
for the elderly and revere your God. I am the
Lord.
Deuteronomy 18:9-13
-
When you enter the land the
Lord your God
is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.
Let
no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the
fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in
witchcraft, or casts
spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone
who does these things is detestable to the
Lord, and
because of these detestable practices the
Lord your God
will drive out those nations before you.
You must be blameless before
the Lord your
God.
Joshua 13:22 -
In addition to those slain in battle, the
Israelites had put to the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced divination.
2 Kings 17:16-17 -
They forsook all the
commands of the Lord
their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an
Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.
They sacrificed their
sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sorcery
and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the
Lord,
provoking him to anger.
2 Kings 21:5-6 -
In both courts of the temple
of the Lord,
he built altars to all the starry hosts.
He sacrificed his own son in
the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and
spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the
Lord,
provoking him to anger.
2 Chronicles 33:6 -
He sacrificed his sons in
the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination
and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the
eyes of the Lord,
provoking him to anger.
Micah 5:11-15 -
I will destroy the cities of
your land and tear
down all your strongholds.
I
will destroy your witchcraft
and you will no longer cast spells.
I
will destroy your carved images
and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down
to the work of your hands.
I will uproot
from among you your Asherah poles
and demolish your cities.
I
will take vengeance in anger and wrath
upon the
nations that have not obeyed me.”
Nahum 3:1-19 -
Woe to
the city of blood, full
of lies, full of plunder, never without victims! The crack of whips,
the clatter of wheels, galloping horses and jolting chariots!
Charging cavalry,
flashing swords and glittering
spears! Many casualties, piles of dead, bodies without number, people stumbling over the corpses —
all because of the wanton lust
of a harlot, alluring,
the mistress of sorceries, who enslaved
nations by her prostitution and peoples by her witchcraft.
“I am against you,” declares
the Lord
Almighty. “I will lift
your skirts over your face. I will show
the nations your nakedness and the kingdoms your shame.
I will pelt you with filth,
I will treat you with
contempt
and make you a spectacle.
All who see you
will flee from you and say,
‘Nineveh is in ruins —who will mourn for her?’ Where
can I find anyone to comfort you?”
Are you better than Thebes,
situated on the
Nile, with water around her? The river
was her defense, the
waters her wall.
Cush and Egypt were her boundless strength;
Put and Libya were among her
allies. Yet she
was taken captive and
went into exile. Her infants were
dashed to pieces at
the head of every street. Lots were
cast for her nobles,
and all her great men were put in chains.
You too will become drunk;
you will go into
hiding and seek refuge from the enemy.
All your fortresses are like
fig trees with their
first ripe fruit; when they are
shaken, the figs fall
into the mouth of the eater.
Look at your troops—
they are all women! The gates of your land are wide open to your
enemies; fire has consumed their bars.
Draw water for the siege,
strengthen your defenses! Work the clay, tread the mortar, repair the
brickwork! There
the fire will devour you;
the sword will cut you down and, like grasshoppers,
consume you. Multiply like
grasshoppers, multiply
like locusts!
You have increased the number of your merchants
till they are more than the stars of the sky, but like locusts they strip the land
and then fly away.
Your guards are like
locusts, your
officials like swarms of locusts that settle in the walls on a cold day— but when the sun appears they fly away,
and no one knows
where.
O king of
Assyria, your shepherds slumber;
your nobles lie down to rest. Your people are scattered on the mountains
with no one to gather them. Nothing can heal
your wound; your
injury is fatal. Everyone who hears
the news about you
claps his hands at your fall, for who
has not felt your
endless cruelty?
Isaiah 2:6-22 -
You have abandoned your people, the house of Jacob. They are full of superstitions from the East;
they practice
divination like the Philistines and clasp hands with pagans.
Their land is full of silver
and gold; there is no
end to their treasures. Their land is
full of horses; there
is no end to their chariots.
Their land is full of idols;
they bow down to the
work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.
So man will be
brought low and mankind
humbled — do not forgive them.
Go into the rocks,
hide in the ground from dread of the
Lord and the splendor of his
majesty!
The
eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled
and the pride of men brought low; the
Lord alone
will be exalted in that day.
The
Lord Almighty
has a day in store for
all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled),
for all the
cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty,
and all the oaks of Bashan,
for all the towering mountains
and all the high
hills, for every
lofty tower and every
fortified wall,
for every trading ship
and every stately vessel.
The arrogance of man will be
brought low and the
pride of men humbled; the
Lord alone
will be exalted in that day,
and the idols will totally
disappear. Men
will flee to caves in the rocks
and to holes in the ground from dread of the
Lord and the splendor of his
majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.
In that day men will throw
away to the rodents
and bats their idols of silver and
idols of gold, which
they made to worship.
They will flee to caverns in
the rocks and to the
overhanging crags from dread of the
Lord and the splendor of his
majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.
Stop trusting in man,
who has but a breath in his
nostrils. Of what account is he?
Isaiah 8:19 -
When men tell you to consult
mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of
their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Isaiah 47 -
“Go
down, sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter of Babylon;
sit on the ground without a throne, Daughter of the Babylonians.
No more will you be called tender or delicate.
Take millstones
and grind flour; take
off your veil. Lift up your skirts,
bare your legs, and
wade through the streams.
Your nakedness will be exposed
and your shame
uncovered. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one. ” Our Redeemer
—the Lord
Almighty is his name — is
the Holy One of Israel.
“Sit in silence, go into
darkness, Daughter of
the Babylonians; no more will you be
called queen of
kingdoms. I was
angry with my people
and desecrated my inheritance; I gave
them into your hand,
and you showed them no mercy. Even on
the aged you laid a
very heavy yoke.
You said, ‘I will continue
forever — the eternal
queen!’ But you did not consider
these things or
reflect on what might happen.
“Now then, listen, you wanton
creature, lounging in
your security and saying to yourself, ‘I am, and there is
none besides me.
I will never be a widow or suffer the loss of
children.’
Both
of these will overtake you
in a moment, on a single day: loss of children and
widowhood. They will come upon you in
full measure, in
spite of your many sorceries and all your potent spells.
You have trusted in your
wickedness and have
said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom
and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, ‘I am, and there is none
besides me.’
Disaster will come upon you,
and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that
you cannot ward off with a ransom; a
catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you.
“Keep on, then, with your
magic spells and with
your many sorceries, which you have labored at since childhood. Perhaps you will succeed,
perhaps you will cause
terror. All the
counsel you have received has only worn you out!
Let your astrologers come forward,
those stargazers who make predictions month by
month, let them save
you from what is coming upon you.
Surely they are like stubble;
the fire will burn
them up. They cannot even save
themselves from the
power of the flame. Here are no coals
to warm anyone; here
is no fire to sit by.
That is all they can do for
you— these you have
labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them goes on in his error;
there is not one that can
save you.
Malachi 3:5
-
“So I will come near to you for
judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and
perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the
widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me,”
says the Lord
Almighty.
Acts 13:4-12 -
The
two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and
sailed from there to Cyprus.
When they arrived at Salamis,
they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as
their helper. They
traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a
Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,
who was an attendant of the
proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas
and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.
But Elymas the sorcerer (for
that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from
the faith. Then Saul,
who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas
and said, “You are a
child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all
kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of
the Lord? Now the
hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind, and for a time you
will be unable to see the light of the sun.”
Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and
he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
When the proconsul saw what
had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.
Acts 19:1-22 -
While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and
arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples
and asked them, “Did you
receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that
there is a Holy Spirit.”
So Paul asked, “Then what
baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,”
they replied. Paul
said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe
in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
On hearing this, they were
baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
When Paul placed his hands on
them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and
prophesied. There were
about twelve men in all.
Paul entered the synagogue
and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom
of God. But some of
them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So
Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the
lecture hall of Tyrannus.
This went on for two years,
so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word
of the Lord. God did
extraordinary miracles through Paul, so
that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick,
and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
Some Jews who went around
driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those
who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of Jesus, whom Paul
preaches, I command you to come out.”
Seven sons of Sceva, a
Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
One day the evil spirit
answered them, “Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?”
Then
the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave
them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.
When this became known to
the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the
name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.
Many of those who believed
now came and openly confessed their evil deeds.
A number who
had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly.
When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand
drachmas.
In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.
After all this had happened,
Paul decided to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. “After I
have been there,” he said, “I must visit Rome also.”
He sent two of his helpers,
Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he stayed in the province of Asia a
little longer.
Galatians 5:19-21
-
The acts of the sinful nature
are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft;
hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
and envy; drunkenness, orgies,
and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will
not inherit the kingdom of God.
Revelation 9:20-21 -
The
rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of
the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold,
silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
Nor did they repent of their
murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Revelation 18 -
After this I saw another angel coming
down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his
splendor.
With a mighty voice he
shouted: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the
Great! She has become
a home for demons and a haunt for
every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. For all the
nations have drunk the
maddening wine of her adulteries. The
kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her
excessive luxuries.”
Then I heard another voice
from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people,
so that you will not
share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
for her sins are piled
up to heaven, and God
has remembered her crimes.
Give back to her as she has
given;
pay her back double for what
she has done. Mix her a double portion from her own cup.
Give her as much torture and
grief as the glory and
luxury she gave herself. In her heart
she boasts, ‘I sit as
queen; I am not a widow,
and I will never mourn.’
Therefore in one day her
plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God
who judges her.
“When the kings of the earth who committed adultery
with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and
mourn over her.
Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:
“‘Woe! Woe, O great city, O Babylon, city of power!
In one hour your doom has come!’
“The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one
buys their cargoes any more — cargoes
of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and
scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of
ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble;
cargoes of cinnamon and
spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour
and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and bodies and souls of men.
“They will say, ‘The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your
riches and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’
The merchants who sold these
things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her
torment. They will weep and mourn
and cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe, O great city, dressed in fine linen,
purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!
In one hour such great
wealth has been brought to ruin!’ “Every sea
captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living
from the sea, will stand far off.
When they see the smoke of
her burning, they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city ?’
They will throw dust
on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe, O great city, where all who had ships on
the sea became rich through her wealth! In one hour she has been brought to ruin!
Rejoice over her, O heaven!
Rejoice, saints and
apostles and prophets! God has judged
her for the way she treated you.’”
Then a mighty angel picked up
a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said:
“With such violence the great city of Babylon
will be thrown down, never to be found again.
The music of harpists and
musicians, flute players and trumpeters,
will never be heard in you again. No workman of any trade
will ever be found in you
again. The sound of a millstone will never be heard
in you again.
The light of a lamp
will never shine in you again. The
voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world’s great men.
By your magic spell all the
nations were led astray.
In her was found the blood of
prophets and of the saints,
and of all who have been killed on the earth.”
Heavenly Father, we come to you in the
Name of your only begotten, divine, precious and holy Son, who has been
given all authority in heaven and on earth. Our only Master, Savior and
Redeemer.
Father God, please protect and deliver us from all witchcraft and evil
spirits being sent our way, and the power of negative words spoken
against us. Please protect and deliver us from attacks of the kingdom of
darkness.
Now with the power given to us by God, through our faith in Jesus
Christ, under the Lordship of Christ, we do spiritual warfare.
In the Name, Authority, and Power of Almighty God, and through the Power of
the precious, holy blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, we cancel all
witchcraft, curses, voodoo, negative words – spoken, written, made
against us in any manner.
We break their powers and all spells against us, and make them all null
and void, totally cancelled and destroyed through the precious, holy,
blood of Christ, In Jesus Name.
Father, we claim the promise of your word, that
you will destroy witchcraft, because it is a detestable practice:
Deuteronomy 18:9-13
-
When you enter the
land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable
ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son
or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens,
engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who
consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and
because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those
nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God.
Micah 5:12
- I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells.
And that no weapon formed against us will prosper:
Isaiah 54:17
- no weapon
forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses
you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their
vindication from me,” declares the LORD.
The weapons we fight with have divine power, and are mighty through
you, heavenly Father, to demolish strongholds,
cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against
the knowledge of you, and bring captive every thought to the
obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 - The weapons we fight with
are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to
demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to
make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of
disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
You have given us the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions (evil
spirits), and to overcome all the power of the enemy (Satan himself), according
to:
Luke
10:19 - I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions
and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Therefore, In Jesus Name, we command all evil
spirits to loose us, depart from us, and go
away forever to the place appointed by Christ!
Leave us immediately and be forever gone!
We thank you heavenly Father for the victory that you have given us in
our Christian lives.
1
Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through the precious blood of Christ, we
have been set free from the kingdom of darkness, and translated into the
Kingdom of our Lord, Savior, Master and Redeemer Jesus Christ - the
Kingdom of light and everlasting life.
Colossians 1:13-14
- For he has rescued us from
the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in
whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ and through Jesus' precious blood.
Amen!

Father God, in the Name of Jesus Christ, we bind, break and loose
ourselves from all witchcraft, curses and spells - and through the
precious blood of Jesus Christ - destroy the works of every witch,
warlock, wizard, sorcerer, satanist, and all other powers of darkness.
In Jesus Name, we bind demons of sex, lust, sickness,
disease, suicide, strife, death and destruction, and all other evil
spirits being sent our way, and we command them to leave us right now
and never return, in Jesus
Name!
In the Name of Jesus Christ and through His precious
blood, we break all evil powers - including influences of witchcraft,
curses, magic, spells, charms, fetishes, hexes, vexes, voodoo, hoodoo,
crystals, roots, jinxes, potions, bewitchments, chanting, incantations,
or any such things - off ourselves. We break and loose ourselves from
psychic thoughts and psychic prayers. We break and loose ourselves from
incense and candles being burned on our behalf. We break and loose
ourselves from ungodly intercessory prayers, in Jesus Name.
As your battle axe and weapons of war, we break down, undam, blow up and break in pieces
the walls of protection around all witches, warlocks, wizards,
sorcerers, satanists and the like. In Jesus Name and through the
precious blood of Jesus, we destroy all their evil works.
Jeremiah 51:20-23
- “You are my war club, my
weapon for battle— with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms, with
you I shatter horse and rider, with you I shatter chariot and driver, with you I
shatter man and woman, with you I shatter old man and youth, with you I shatter
young man and maiden, with you I shatter shepherd and flock, with you I shatter
farmer and oxen, with you I shatter governors and officials.
We cover ourselves and this place with the precious
blood of Jesus. Father, please send your giant warrior angels to protect
us from all evil spirits being sent our way, according to your promise
in:
Psalm 34:7
- The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Psalm 91
- He who dwells in the shelter of the
Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He
is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with
his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be
your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow
that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the
plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand
at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with
your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your
dwelling—even the Lord, who is my refuge—then no harm will befall you, no
disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you
will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the
cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,”
says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my
name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in
trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and
show him my salvation.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3 - But the Lord is faithful, and he will
strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
In Jesus Name and By His Mighty Power!
Amen!

Heavenly Father, we humbly come to your throne, in the
Name of your only begotten, divine, and precious holy Son, who has been
given all authority in heaven and on earth.
We declare that you are the only true God of the universe and that there is
no other in our lives.
Father, we confess all our sins to you and renounce
them all. We claim the promise of your word that you will hear our prayers
if we do not cherish sin in our hearts.
Psalm 66:18-20
- If I had cherished sin in my
heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard
my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld
his love from me!
We thank you for the precious blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses, redeems,
purifies and sets us free from all sin:
Ephesians 1:7 - In him we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
Father God, we recognize that your will for us in our lives is to obey your
commandments, and serve you faithfully and wholeheartedly. Therefore, we
completely surrender ourselves to your will.
Heavenly Father, we choose to
conform to your highest standards - living our lives in holiness, godliness,
purity, truth and righteousness. We do not conform to the evil ways of this
world. Our lives have been totally transformed by the power of your Holy Spirit.
We are Spirit-begotten children of God with new lives in Christ:
2 Corinthians 5:17
- Therefore, if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Ephesians 4:24 - and to put on the new self, created to be like
God in true righteousness and holiness.
In Jesus Name, we reject and resist all powers of darkness, of Satan and his
cohorts (demons). We hold up the shield of faith against all accusations of
Satan. We reject and resist Satan's temptations, accusations and condemnations.
In Jesus Name, we bind all evil spirits and command them to leave us now, and
never return!
The weapons we fight with are spiritual, (not carnal), but mighty
through you, Father, in pulling down strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every
high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of you, and bringing captive
every thought to the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4-6
- The weapons
we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have
divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension
that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every
thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act
of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
Therefore, In Jesus Name, we tear down the strongholds of Satan
and shatter the plans of Satan and his demons over our lives, that have been
formed against us.
We
claim the promise of your word, Father, that no weapon formed against us will
prosper:
Isaiah 54:17
- no weapon forged against you will
prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage
of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares
the Lord.
We
put on the whole armour of God to withstand Satan's evil devices: The helmet of salvation, breastplate
of righteousness, shield of faith, sword of the spirit (which is the word of
God), belt of truth, and shoes of the readiness to announce the Good News. We
lift up the shield of faith against all fiery darts of the enemy. We take in our
hand the sword of the spirit, which is your word, O Lord, and use your word
against all forces of evil.
Ephesians 6:10-18 - Finally, be strong in the Lord
and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your
stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of
this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you
may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the
breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the
readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up
the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the
evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the
word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers
and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the
saints.
Father, we are very grateful that our precious Lord Jesus Christ spoiled powers
and authorities, and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by
the cross:
Colossians 2:15
- And having disarmed the powers
and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the
cross.
We claim that victory in our Christian
lives:
1 Corinthians 15:57
- But thanks be to God! He
gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:4
-
for everyone born of God overcomes
the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
We choose to obey your
commandments and live according to the truth. Your word is truth. We have
complete faith, hope and trust in your word.
We stand in the victory of the
crucifixion where our Lord Jesus Christ provided cleansing, redemption and
purification of our sins.
You are the God of all hope. You
have proven your supreme and mighty power by resurrecting our Lord Jesus Christ
from the dead and we claim your victory over all evil forces. In the name of
Jesus, we reject these satanic forces.
We stand in the victory of the glorification of our Lord Jesus Christ, where all
the angels, authorities and powers were made subject unto Him.
Father, come into our lives. We draw closer to you, please draw closer to us.
Keep us from every idol and cast out every foe.
Thank you for all the spiritual blessings you have bestowed upon us:
Ephesians 1:3
- Praise be to the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every
spiritual blessing in Christ.
Father, we now cover ourselves with the precious blood of Jesus. We cover our
soul, spirit, mind and body.
We cover ourselves with the precious blood of Jesus against any demons
that may try and come against us.
We cover ourselves with the precious blood of Jesus against any humans
that may try and come against us.
We cover ourselves with the precious blood of Jesus against any
accidents or catastrophes that may come against us.
We cover ourselves with the precious blood of Jesus against any disease
or sickness that could possibly strike our body and mind.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we have full faith and belief that the precious
blood of Jesus will now protect us in our Christian lives.
Praise and glory to you heavenly Father!
We pray in the Name of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
Amen!

Heavenly Father, we believe that Jesus is your
only begotten, precious, divine and holy Son. He gave His life on the cross to
set us free from all our sins.
We thank you Father, for the promise of
cleansing, purification, redemption from and forgiveness of sins. We are
sanctified
(set apart and made holy for you).
Psalm 103:12
- as far as the
east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Isaiah 1:18
- “Come now, let us
reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall
be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
1 John 1:9
- If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from
all unrighteousness.
Jesus rose again from the dead and is alive at
your right hand. He is returning with great power, glory and majesty as King of
kings and Lord of lords to establish your Kingdom on the earth.
We surrender our lives to you completely as our
Lord. We confess all our sins, past and present, known and unknown. We are sorry
for them all and renounce them all.
(you can name each individual sin.
For example, sexual
and occult, and any other sins you have been involved in).
We renounce ungodly covenants that we have made
with …
(name the individuals).
We commit ourselves to destroy any detestable
material in our possession.
(For example, sexual and occult related material,
including books, magazines and objects, etc).
We forgive all who have ever harmed us in any
way. We forgive …
(you can name each individual).
We ask you Father, to release us from the curses
associated with any sins our ancestors may have been involved in.
We now declare that Satan has no legal grounds to
operate in our lives.
In Jesus Name, we command all evil spirits to
loose us and depart from us immediately and never return!
Heavenly Father, we trust in you and believe that
no weapon formed against us will prosper. We believe that Jesus took upon
Himself every curse that could ever come upon us, including all our sickness,
grief, pain and sorrow.
We thank you Father, that you have released us
from every curse over our lives.
In Jesus glorious Name and by His amazing power!
Amen!
Note: Please proceed
to tract: entitled ‘Curses.’
This prayer
will be powerful and effective for true and faithful Christians to pray, as they
will not
be involved in witchcraft or any other detestable activities or perversions,
such as sexual immorality.
If you are involved in detestable practices, you need deliverance first, and your
life must be in line with God's will before you pray for the deliverance of
others.
This is a deliverance prayer to pray on behalf of someone who is, or a group of
people whom you know are involved
in Satanism/Occultism (includes witchcraft).
Figuratively speaking, Satan has blindfolded them and bound them in
chains and shackles, and he is holding them captive in a dark prison cell to do
his evil will and pleasure. Spiritually, they are blinded and deceived (a
deceived person does not know he is deceived), but Satan
cannot force them to do evil, and they desperately need to be set free!! Jesus
triumphed over all His enemies, and made a public spectacle of them. Jesus
Christ defeated Satan at the cross. Therefore, they are backing the biggest
loser, Satan, whose destiny is the lake of fire where he will suffer eternal
torment.
Revelation 20:10
-
And the devil, who deceived
them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false
prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Don't think that because your Satan's captive you will escape the judgment
of God for
being habitually involved in detestable sins and practices. Those who live this way will
not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Don't blame it all on Satan. He cannot force you to do anything sinful/evil and
you have allowed Satan to take you captive in the first place. You have given
him a foothold/stronghold and legal grounds to operate in your life. You can choose to
be Satan's slave and in bondage to sin, or you can choose to be a free man or
woman! God gives everyone free moral agency - to choose to do good, or to choose
to do evil. Those who truly belong to Christ have crucified the sinful, carnal
nature with its evil passions and desires - they hate sin and do not cherish sin
in their hearts, and do not habitually or deliberately practice sin.
Some will say that Satan is all responsible
for the evil that is happening in the world. If that is the case, why aren't all
sexually immoral? why aren't all criminals/murderers? why aren't all involved in
Satanism/occultism? why most pornographic material is produced in the US? Satan
cannot be in complete control of a person's mind, body, emotions or behaviour,
unless that person is demonically possessed. Although, Satan may influence a
person to a certain degree, through evil spirits, that person is still
responsible for his/her actions. But that person can be set free! (Read Tract -
'You Can Be Set Free!').
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 -
Do you not know that the wicked will not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor
idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor
thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit
the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:24 - Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature with its passions and desires.
All incorrigible sinners will perish in unquenchable fire,
unless they repent and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!
Luke 13:3 -
I tell you, no!
But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Revelation 20:15
-
If anyone’s name was not found
written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Note:
Your relationship with Jesus requires total commitment, devotion and dedication.
You must totally surrender your life to Jesus! You need serious determination to
do God’s will in your life.
Satan's Captive Prayer of Release
Heavenly Father, Creator of the universe -
heavens and the earth, sky and sea, and all that is in them. We come to you in
the Name of Jesus Christ, your only begotten, divine, precious and holy Son.
We boldly come to your throne of grace to pray on
behalf of ……………. (name each individual), declaring that Jesus defeated
Satan at the cross, and disarmed the powers and authorities, and made a public
spectacle of them, triumphing over all His foes by the cross. We claim that
victory in every aspect of our Christian lives.
Father God, please set free ............ (name
each individual) from their dark prison cells so that they stop doing
Satan’s evil will and pleasure. Remove their chains, shackles and blindfolds, so
that they are no longer Satan’s slaves and under his oppression.
We ask you Father, to help them see the light of
the glorious gospel of Christ shining upon them. Remove the veil of deception
from their minds so that they will believe and understand your word. Remove the scales from
their eyes so that they may be spiritually unblinded and see the light of your
truth, and accept and confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior so that they
may be saved.
We pray that they will surrender their lives to you, and use
their freedom from Satan’s captivity to serve you heavenly Father, faithfully
and wholeheartedly, with complete commitment, devotion and dedication.
We ask that you help them to renounce ungodly covenants that
they have made with …..….. (name each individual, if you know), and to renounce Satan
and all satanic/occult/witchcraft
sacrifices, rituals and activities, so that Satan may have
no legal ownership of them and no legal grounds to operate in their lives.
We pray that they will commit themselves to destroy any detestable
material in their possession - satanic/occult/witchcraft literature and objects,
including: statues, amulets, charms, ouija boards, tarot cards, etc.
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that your word
clearly mentions:
Deuteronomy 7:25-26
-
The images of their gods you are
to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take
it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the
Lord your God. Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it,
will be set apart for destruction. Utterly abhor and detest it, for it is set
apart for destruction.
Deuteronomy 18:10-13
-
Let no one be found among you
who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or
sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a
medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is
detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your
God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the
Lord your God.
We pray that ……….. will repent and confess all their sins, past
and present, known and unknown, to you Father, in prayer, and be sorry for them
all, and renounce them all, so that they may escape eternal punishment of
unquenchable fire in hell.
Your word mentions:
Luke 13:3 -
I tell you, no! But unless you
repent, you too will all perish.
Revelation 20:15 - If anyone’s name was not found written in the book
of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
We ask that you release ……….. from any curses that they have
brought upon themselves as a result of being involved in these satanic/occult/
witchcraft
sacrifices, rituals and activities, and to release ……… (name each
individual) from any curses associated with any occult activities their
ancestors may have been involved in.
Father God, help them to be set free from the kingdom of
darkness - from Satan's oppression, the yoke of slavery and bondage of sin, and
translated into the Kingdom of our precious Lord and Savior - the Kingdom of
light and everlasting life.
Colossians 1:13-14
-
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the
kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of
sins.
Heavenly Father, we ask that you send your giant
warrior angels to minister to ………….. and help them to receive salvation. There
is no other name under heaven by which man can be saved - only in the Name of
your dear, precious holy Son, Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12
-
And there is salvation in and
through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by
and in which we must be saved.
We pray that you will destroy Satan’s evil work in their lives.
We claim the promise of your word that Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy
Satan’s evil work, and that you will soon crush Satan under our feet speedily.
Romans 16:20
-
The God of peace will soon crush
Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
1 John 3:8-9
-
He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning
from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the
devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed
remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
Father God, please help them to resist Satan’s
temptations and to give him no place in their lives, so that they may be filled
with the peace, righteousness and joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, and help
them to glorify Christ by living self-controlled, upright, holy and godly lives
in this present age.
Heavenly Father, we pray that through the
precious blood of Jesus Christ, you will redeem …………. out of the clutch of
Satan, and help ………... to renounce membership in the church of Satan.
Please shield and protect ……….. from all evil,
including Satan, his cohorts and the whole kingdom of darkness, and cover ………..
with the precious blood of Jesus Christ - their mind, body, soul and spirit.
We overcome Satan by the precious blood of Jesus
Christ, your word Father, and testimony of Jesus Christ.
In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by His
Awesome and Mighty Power!
Amen!!

or Perish!' 'Hell and Unquenchable Fire!' 'Curses’ and ‘No Idols!’
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

(daily prayer with regular fasting)

Prayer for those who are desperately seeking deliverance from sexual
perversion in all its forms and seriously seeking repentance. You have demons
and urgently require deliverance. Satan is making a mockery of you! Only Jesus
Christ can set you free, and unless you repent you will all perish in
unquenchable fire!!
Heavenly Father, we come to you in the Name of your only begotten,
divine and precious holy Son who has been given all authority in heaven and on
earth.
We believe Jesus, your Son, died on the cross to cleanse, redeem, purify and set
us free from all our sins with His own precious blood. Jesus rose again from the
dead. He ascended to heaven, and is now returning with great power and glory as
King of kings and Lord of lords to establish your Kingdom on the earth!
Jesus gave strong warnings about repentance:
Luke 13:2-5 - Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans
were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?
I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those
eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were
more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless
you repent, you too will all perish.”
Therefore, we come to you holy
Father, desperately and seriously seeking repentance and complete deliverance
from sexual sins. We need your help to resist sexual and lustful urges and
temptations in the form of ……………………….…....… . (you can name them here).
Father God, please help us to resist corrupt, negative and evil influences in
the world. To have a hatred for all sin and not to cherish sin in
our hearts. Come into our lives and help us to stop sinning.
Father God, we confess our sins ……………………...….. (name all sexual sins you have
been involved in and renounce them individually). We are sorry for them all
and renounce them all. Please forgive us all our sins.
We acknowledge that we have sinned against you and have done what is evil in
your sight. We gave in to vile, degrading, despicable sins and foolish pleasures
that lead to death and destruction, for your word
mentions:
Romans 6:23
- For the wages of
sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Heavenly Father, please protect
us from Satan and demons (evil spirits) that were sent to us through witchcraft,
transferred to us or followed us in any way, and the whole kingdom of darkness.
Please shield our lives from all Satanic/demonic activity. Help us to detect
Satan’s schemes, resist them and give him no stronghold in our lives.
We commit ourselves to destroy any sexual literature and objects in our
possession that are detestable in your sight and will open doors for demonic
activity in our lives. (For example, music that includes sexually explicit
lyrics, porn magazines, etc).
Holy Father, we totally commit,
devote and dedicate our lives to you. We ask that you shape and transform us
into the image of your dear Son - to be more like Jesus in all aspects of our
lives. Purify our hearts, minds and lives, and help us to live a life of
holiness, godliness, purity, truth and righteousness - pleasing, holy and
acceptable in your sight, according to your word:
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - Flee from sexual immorality. All other
sins a man
commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own
body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in
you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a
price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Father, your word also says that those who live a life of sexual immorality
will not inherit your Kingdom.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
- Do you not know that the wicked will not
inherit the
kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor
idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor
thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit
the kingdom of God.
Therefore, please help us to
live a life that is worthy of you so that we will inherit the promise of your
Kingdom.
We now declare that we are the children of God with a new life in Christ. We
are yours heavenly Father. We belong to you and want to live for you.
Please fill us with the Holy Spirit. We live to do your will, which is to fear
you, obey your commandments, and serve you faithfully and wholeheartedly. Lead,
guide and help us in our lives, along the narrow road that leads to salvation
and everlasting life in your Kingdom.
In Jesus’ precious holy name. Amen!
Note: Please

Only Jesus Christ can set you free from your addiction. You desperately and
seriously need deliverance and repentance!
Heavenly Father, we come to you in the Name of your only begotten, divine,
precious and holy Son, for there is no other name under heaven by which man can
be saved.
We believe in, and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the cleansing,
redemption of, and purification from our sins. We believe Jesus Christ, your
Son, rose again from the dead and is ascended to heaven, and is at the right
hand of your throne. He is returning with awesome power and great glory as King
of kings and Lord of lords to establish your Kingdom here on the earth.
Holy Father, we desperately need you in our lives. Please help us to overcome
…………………..…. (for example: pornography, gambling, drug, alcohol, smoking and other addiction etc). We cannot do it alone, and help from mere
man is utterly useless. We put our complete hope, trust and confidence in you.
For only you can help us to overcome any form of addiction.
Father God, we have given ourselves over to foolish pleasures that have caused
havoc in our lives. Please help us to stop committing these vile and degrading
sins and detestable practices. Help us to crucify the sinful, carnal nature that
brings misery, pain and suffering in our lives. To put to death the misdeeds of
the flesh that lead to death and destruction.
(Although God knows your situation, you may wish to describe it in greater
detail here so that you express your misery and desperation to be set free!!
For example, you have been left with a huge credit card debt as a result of
pornography addiction, or you have become a drunkard because a “friend”
introduced you to alcohol which led to your addiction and are now suffering the
debilitating effects).
Father, we confess our sins, past and present, known and unknown. We are sorry
for them all and renounce them all (you can name each individual sin).
Please forgive us all our sins and transform our lives completely by the power
of your Holy Spirit. Help us to stop sinning and not to cherish sin in
our hearts. Help us to resist all temptations that the world, including Satan,
may bring our way and avoid sinful pleasures.
We commit ourselves to destroy any detestable objects and material in your
sight. (For example: music with sexually explicit lyrics, porn magazines,
alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc).
Heavenly Father, Your word says that those who live a life that is contrary to
your word will not inherit your Kingdom.
Galatians 5:19-21 -
The acts of the sinful nature are
obvious: sexual immorality,
impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy,
fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness,
orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this
will not
inherit the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 5:5 - For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or
greedy
person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ
and of God.
Therefore, we ask you Father, to help,
encourage and comfort us to live a life that is in obedience to your
commandments. Please lead, guide and help us to live lives worthy of you, so that
we will inherit your Kingdom.
Heavenly Father, we declare that
Christ defeated Satan at the cross. We claim
that victory in all aspects of our lives - victory to overcome Satan, demonic
forces and the whole kingdom of darkness; victory over the world; and
victory to overcome addiction and resist temptations.
1
Corinthians 15:57- But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
We now declare that we are set free from
our addiction. With your help Father, we will live according to the Spirit, and
not gratify the desires of the sinful nature!
In Jesus Name,
Amen!

Psalm
66:18-20 -
If I had cherished sin in my
heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and
heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my
prayer or withheld his love from me!
Ecclesiastes
9:4 -
Anyone who is among the living has hope —even a live dog is better off
than a dead lion!
Jeremiah
29:11 -
For I know the plans
I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to
harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Remember:
You may like to share with me
your personal testimony of how my prayers to God have changed your life!
I pray that enemies will repent, and if they don't, then God takes care
of the rest!
The Bible says 'repent or perish!'
We always walk by faith and not by sight. In other words, we
believe that God exists and that He will answer our prayers according to
His will. We don't ask God for a sign that our prayers are effective.
How
do we prepare for prayer and crucial points about prayer?
*
The first crucial step in preparation
for prayer is repentance and spiritual and household cleansing. (Please see repentance page
and the next section entitled 'spiritual and household cleansing').
Acts 17:30-31 -
In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all
people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the
world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of
this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
* Repentance is crucial in answered prayer.
Isaiah 59:2 - But your iniquities have separated you from
your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not
hear.
* Faith is a pre-requisite to
answered prayer. We believe in God and are confident that He answers all
our requests.
Hebrews 11:1
- Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about
what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:6
- And without
faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him
must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek
him.
Crucial: Firstly, God is first love and first priority in my
life! I reject bribes no matter how large the sum may be. I will never
abandon my faith in Almighty God. No one and nothing can replace the
Lord My God in my life and God means everything to me!
* As Christian prayer warriors, it is crucial that we resist temptation.
We therefore ask God for help in living according to His Word, and
fleeing from all evil including sexual immorality.
Luke 22:40 -
On reaching the
place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
Psalm 59:9 -
Because of his strength will I
wait upon
thee: for God is my defence.
* God must always be first love and first priority. One must be
extremely careful not to commit the sin of idolatry, because idolatry
is one of the gravest sins in the eyes of God and carries the heaviest
of penalties.
* There are many forms of idolatry. For example, witchcraft and
worshipping idols or false gods; setting up statues, images, sacred or
carved stones in order to bow down before them; using rosary beads and
scapulars; worshipping creation, instead of Almighty God who is creator,
and placing someone or something above or before the True God in one's
life.
For example, money, wealth, cars, houses, possessions, food, drink,
sport, anything media related, e.g. tv, radio, magazines or newspapers
and well-known people and a life of self-indulgence.
Leviticus
26:1-2 - “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred
stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to
bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.
“‘Observe my
Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
Romans 1:18-23 - The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven
against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the
truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to
them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of
the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine
nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,
so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they
neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking
became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they
claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the
immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds
and animals and reptiles.
* God is always first love and first priority in my life and I do not
use physical aid to worship Him such as a cross, scapular, statue,
image, etc, because God is Spirit and we worship Him in spirit and in
truth:
John 4:24
-
God is spirit, and his
worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
* God
specifically mentions:
1.
DO NOT make for yourselves or set up an idol or image or
sacred or carved stone to worship it.
2.
DO NOT bow down to the idol or image or sacred or carved stone.
3.
DO NOT serve the idol or image or sacred or carved stone.
Exodus 20:3-6 -
You shall have no other gods
before or besides Me. You shall not make yourself any graven image [to
worship it] or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or
that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord
your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me,
But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those
who love Me and keep My commandments.
* We avoid what the bible defines as sin, always asking God for help in
avoiding all sin, evil, pressures, distractions and resisting
temptations in the world.
* It is crucial for a Christian prayer warrior never to be enticed or
tempted into immorality, because firstly God's Word tells us that our
bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we belong to God, we do
not belong to ourselves, therefore we are to flee from sexual
immorality. Secondly, your prayers will never be answered no matter how
many prayers you pray, if you are involved in any of the major sins such
as sexual immorality,
idolatry in all its forms: including witchcraft and greed, drunkenness
and drug abuse (club).
* The above sins are the gravest in the eyes of God and carry the
heaviest of penalties.
Exodus 32:35
- And the LORD struck the people with a plague because of what they did
with the calf Aaron had made.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 -
Do
you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not
be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers
nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy
nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of
God.
1 Corinthians 10:8
- We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one
day twenty-three thousand of them died.
* Also, one cannot expect to have his prayers answered by watching
horror, vulgar, immoral movies or listening to these kinds of lyrics and
then praying to God. Firstly, that is sin within itself and secondly,
that person will be enticed and tempted into others sins and thirdly,
that person's mind will be polluted and therefore will not be focused on
God and prayer.
* For those who are in the world and have temptations. For example are
involved in and have struggles with sexual immorality and voyeurism, you
have demons and you need to be set free, proceed to the repentance and
deliverance pages, once you have read the prayer page.
* True, heartfelt repentance and avoiding these sins will draw us closer
to God and thereby we will receive answers to our prayers and therefore
our prayers will be powerful and effective.
* From that point on, the person must allow God's Holy Spirit to
transform him completely and he must never commit those major sins
again. Of course, we ask God to help us in all areas of our lives and to
eliminate any remaining sin (leaven) and resist temptations (e.g. in the
form of advertising).
There must be a total, evident transformation in one's life. It is not a
modification of the old lifestyle. The old man is gone, the new has
come!
2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new
creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Ephesians 4:24 - and to put on the new self, created
to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
* We never cherish sin in our hearts. One must confess and renounce his
sins in prayer to God. Godly sorrow is required.
Psalm
66:18-20 -
If I had cherished sin in my
heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and
heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my
prayer or withheld his love from me!
* We devote ourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful and live a
disciplined life of self-sacrifice.
Colossians 4:2 -
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
For example,
I avoid clubs, drugs, smoking, alcohol, greed,
debauchery, slander, witchcraft, impurity, filthy language, all kinds of
evil, idolatry and immorality and I'm not a friend of or with the world.
I also use a filtered Christian ISP.
I don't listen to the radio or watch tv at all.
(It is pollution for the mind!)
Instead, I live a godly life with prayer and bible study, plant good
seeds (by encouraging others to repentance, teaching, helping,
inspiring, comforting) and view God's Awesome, Miracles, Signs and
Wonders!
*
God gave me the victory because I followed the above crucial points about
prayer.
1 Corinthians 15:57 -
But thanks be to God! He gives
us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
* We must keep the Sabbath day
holy. We spend extra time in fellowship with God and His Son Jesus
Christ through prayer and bible study.
God blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Once a specific day is
blessed by God, it is blessed forever and His Laws are universal, for
both Jews and Gentiles, because there is only one God and He is God of
all and there are references to the Sabbath in both the Old and New
Testament:
The Sabbath is on the seventh day (saturday).
Exodus 20:11
- For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and
all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the
LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
Romans 3:29-30 - Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God
of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, since there is only one God, who
will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that
same faith.
Jesus is Lord of the
Sabbath:
Mark 2:27-28 -
Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,
not man for the Sabbath.
So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Christ was teaching in the
synagogue on the Sabbath:
Mark 6:1-3 -
Jesus left there and went to his
hometown, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began
to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.
“Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom
that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is
performing?
Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James,
Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?”
And they took offense at him.
Christ came to fulfill, to uphold,
to establish the Law (not to abolish) and includes keeping the Sabbath
day holy:
Matthew 5:17 -
[ The Fulfillment of the Law ] “Do
not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have
not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Romans 3:31 - Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all!
Rather, we uphold the law.
Hebrews 4:9 -
There remains, then, a
Sabbath-rest for the people of God;
SPIRITUAL AND
HOUSEHOLD CLEANSING |
Spiritual and Household
Cleansing:
(please see Bible,
Deliverance and Home page also)
Firstly,
we
remove anything that is an abomination to the Lord and will distract us
and interfere with our relationship with Him.
Our environment must be a disciplined prayer environment:
1.
Use a filtered
ISP online e.g. Webshield and an ad popup blocker.
2.
Remove idols, this includes statues and souvenirs from the home and
smash them to pieces.
Leviticus 26:1-2
- “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for
yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down
before it. I am the LORD your God. “‘Observe my Sabbaths and have
reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
3. Burn literature/books about witchcraft/sorcery and other occult
related items including amulets, charms, ouija boards and tarot cards,
etc.
Acts 19:17-20
- When this
became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all
seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.
Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had
done. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together
and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls,
the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. In this way the word of the
Lord spread widely and grew in power.
4. Rip filthy magazines/newspapers to
shreds.
Ephesians 5:3
- But among you there must
not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or
of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.
5. Avoid sexual immorality
(we are to flee from sexual immorality. Our body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit and we honor God with our body).
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 -
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in
you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were
bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 - It is God’s will that you should be
sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;
6. Avoid Idolatry in all its forms including statues, witchcraft,
literature, greed
(excessive desire for food or wealth), gluttony
(excessive eating and drinking) etc.
Ephesians 5:5 -
For of this you can be
sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has
any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
7. No worldly horror, immoral, vulgar magazines, tv, radio, lyrics and
websites etc.
Ephesians 5:4 -
Nor should there be obscenity,
foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather
thanksgiving.
8. Total abstinence from the world's sinful pleasures,
(which leads to death &
destruction).
God strictly forbids all immorality including sexual immorality,
fornication, adultery, remarriage etc.
(Remarriage is forbidden unless the husband dies).
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 - Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.
For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what
fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between
Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an
unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?
For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will
live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they
will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says
the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”
Galatians
5:19-21 -
The
acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and
debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of
rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness,
orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live
like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 5:11-14 -
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather
expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in
secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and
everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
9. No friendships with the world -
Social
network websites can be used in a good way, and that is to preach the
true gospel. We never use social network websites and chatrooms to make
friends with the world 1 Co 15:33;
Jas 4:4.
We are accepted by God when we avoid corrupt and
evil company. A person who associates with evildoers becomes a partaker
of evil deeds and will receive the same punishment. Sexual perverts,
including pedophiles and all kinds of other criminals are among those
who go there, and we are to avoid them. Children require parental
supervision on the internet.
Ephesians 5:6-7
-
Let no one deceive you with
empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who
are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.
James 4:4 - You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship
with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses
to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
10. Avoid Slander.
The penalty for slander is not inheriting the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:10
- nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers
will inherit the kingdom of God.
11. Avoid temptations (usually in the form of advertising).
For example, I don't watch tv, listen to the radio or read magazines.
Luke
22:40 -
On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall
into temptation.”
1 Timothy 6:9
- Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into
many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and
destruction.
12. Avoid clubs, drugs and smoking (We honor God with our bodies
by avoiding harmful, toxic substances).
Romans 12:2 - Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test
and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 -
Do
you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not
be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers
nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy
nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of
God.
How do we pray?
* Firstly, faith and
repentance is the pre-requisite to answered prayer.
* We always pray to God our
Father, in Jesus Name.
Scripture never tells us to pray to angels, saints, prophets, Mary the
mother of Jesus or anyone else.
* Prayer must be in accordance with God's will and quoting scripture is
most powerful.
* Our prayers must always be spiritual, not physical. We do not pray for
money.
We always seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and God
provides us with all our daily needs.
Matthew 6:33 -
But seek first his
kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you
as well.
Ephesians 6:18 - And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always
keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
* We never repeat memorized
prayer or read from paper like a robot and we try and keep our prayers
short.
Matthew 6:7 - And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like
pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
When do we pray?
* Our relationship with God must be built up and developed and prayer is
part of our daily walk with God.
* I have a very strict
prayer schedule and I pray three times a day.
Such perseverance is required in prayer that I've continued praying
since the first day I started and that was years ago (not one day have I
missed prayer).
1 Thessalonians 5:17 -
pray continually,
* There are many different things to pray about that I find there are
few hours in the day to cover everything I need to say. But of course,
the Bible says to keep our prayers short.
* A Biblical example of perseverance is Daniel the prophet who
persevered in prayer despite the decree that was issued.
Daniel 6:10
- Now when
Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his
upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a
day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just
as he had done before.
* Parable of
the Persistent widow illustrates how much more will God who is just and
righteous grant justice to his elect, (if a corrupt judge granted a
persistent widow justice).
Luke 18:1-8
-
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should
always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain
town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people
thought.
And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with
the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ “For some time he
refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God
or care what people think, yet because this
widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she
won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said,
“Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will
not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day
and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that
they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will
he find faith on the earth?”
* We always pray, in any situation or circumstance, however things are
going and never quit when things do not go very well. The situation may
be a trial. This is so crucial! Perseverance, endurance and stamina.
Never lose your faith even if it seems like nothing is happening in your
life.
Romans 12:12 - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in
prayer.
* Faith and perseverance means that I've continued to pray despite what
happened in my personal testimony and even if all is quiet I still
persevere in prayer. Perseverance means continuing under any
circumstance.
*
A once-off prayer or prayers every now and then, just when someone needs
God without repentance will be unanswered.
* I believe God will only rescue someone out of a situation only if that
person is in a right relationship with Him.
Psalm 66:18-20 -
If I had cherished sin in
my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened
and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my
prayer or withheld his love from me!
Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every
situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God.
Where
do we pray?
* Prayer must be in a
private place. Away from all distraction.
Mark 1:35 - Very early in the morning, while it was
still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary
place, where he prayed.
* No public prayers.
Matthew 6:5 -
[ Prayer ] “And when you pray, do
not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the
synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell
you, they have received their reward in full.
Posture for prayer?
* The posture for prayer is usually in the kneeling position.
We always bow forward to God.
Daniel 6:10
- Now when
Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his
upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a
day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just
as he had done before.
What is God's
promise?
God's promise is that we receive whatever we ask in Jesus Name.
Mark 11:24 -
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you
have received it, and it will be yours.
1 John 5:14-15 -
This is the
confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according
to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we
ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
When will God answer my
prayer?
* God knows what's best for us and His timing is different to ours and
He answers our prayers according to His will and timing, He may even
answer immediately as in the case of Jabez or He tests the genuineness
of our faith through different trials first and that is why perseverance
is so crucial.
Prayer of Jabez -
1 Chronicles
4:10 -
Jabez cried out to the
God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!
Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free
from pain.” And God granted his request.
James 1:3-4 - because you know that the testing of your faith
produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may
be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:12 - Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial
because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of
life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
WILL THE PRAYERS OF
UNREPENTANT SINNERS BE ANSWERED?
*
No. When an unrepentant sinner cherishes sin in his heart and refuses to
repent, God will not hear his prayers and those prayers will remain
unanswered.
* When faced with a terrifying situation, an unrepentant sinner or
unbeliever's prayer will be unanswered.
* Answered prayer requires faith that God exists and that He rewards
those who diligently seek Him. Without faith it is impossible to please
God.
* One cannot expect to have his prayer answered by keeping company with
evildoers because that person becomes a partaker of evil deeds.
* Crucial point: lack of spiritual knowledge can completely and
totally destroy people.
Psalm 66:18-20 -
If I had cherished sin in
my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened
and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my
prayer or withheld his love from me!
Proverbs 15:8 -
The LORD detests the
sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
Proverbs 15:29 -
The LORD is far from
the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
Isaiah 1:15 -
When you spread out
your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are
full of blood!
Isaiah 59:2 - But your iniquities have separated you from your
God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
John 9:31 - We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens
to the godly man who does his will.
Acts 17:30-31 -
In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all
people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the
world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of
this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
1 Peter 3:12 -For
the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to
their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
What
do I pray about?
Scripture encourages us to come to
God in prayer with all kinds of different prayers and requests.
Ephesians 6:18 - And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always
keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
The following is
only a partial list of what I pray about and I believe God has granted
me all my requests:
For example:
*
Praise and
thanksgiving
to God who is first love and first priority in my life.
* To proclaim the true gospel 'good news' through my website, with holy
boldness and without hindrances, disruptions, distractions,
interferences and obstacles (human and demonic).
* Reaching the world, including all cities, villages, rural areas,
countries and nations with the
true gospel, effectively and with impact.
* I work for God only and I pray to clearly understand His will for my
life and allow Him to direct my path and know how to please God, serve
Him and do His will.
* Awesome miracles, signs and wonders to be displayed through my
ministry.
* Change history.
* Harvest is plentiful, workers are few, ask the Lord of the harvest to
send out workers into His harvest field.
* Growing and developing the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit (For
example, wisdom, knowledge, faith,
healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, discernment, speaking and
interpretation of tongues).
* Discernment - To discern between true and false teaching (For example,
there are false churches, sermons & courses that teach error and to be
avoided).
* Being filled with the Holy Spirit.
* Wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
* Guidance and strength.
* Protection.
* Salvation.
* Deliverance.
* Spiritual warfare.
* Turn the world upside down.
* Against evil.
* Storming hell.
* Forgiveness of sins.
* Resisting temptations.
* Encouragement, comfort, hope and inspiration.
* Release from oppression.
* Justice.
* Righteousness.
* Help for the poor and needy.
* Sweet sleep.
How
do I pray scripture?
1.
Make preparations before prayer by choosing a specific topic such as
oppression or any request you may have that is according to
God's will and searching the related scriptures by using an online
Bible.
2.
Present your case before God as stated in:
Isaiah 41:21
-
“Present your case,” says
the LORD. “Set forth your arguments,” says Jacob’s King.
3.
In prayer, express your innermost feelings and emotions to God.
4. Quote the scriptures related to
oppression:
Psalm 9:9 -
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of
trouble.
Psalm 10:17-18 -
You, LORD, hear the desire of
the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals
will never again strike terror.
Psalm
12:5 -
“Because the poor are
plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will
protect them from those who malign them.”
Psalm 27:11 -
Teach me your way, LORD;
lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.
Psalm
72:4 -
May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of
the needy; may he crush the oppressor.
Psalm
72:14 -
He will rescue them from
oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.
Psalm
74:21 -
Do not let the oppressed
retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name.
Psalm
82:3 -
Defend the weak and the
fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Psalm
89:22 -
The enemy will not get the
better of him; the wicked will not oppress him.
Psalm
103:6 -
The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
Psalm
119:121, 122 -
ע Ayin I have done what is
righteous and just; do not leave me to my oppressors.
Ensure your servant’s well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
Psalm
119:134 -
Redeem me from human
oppression, that I may obey your precepts.
Psalm
146:7 -
He upholds the cause of the
oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free,
Proverbs 3:34 -
He mocks proud mockers but
shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
Proverbs 14:31 -
Whoever oppresses the poor
shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors
God.
Proverbs 22:16 -
One who oppresses the poor to
increase his wealth and one who gives gifts to the rich—both come to
poverty.
Isaiah 49:26 -
I will make your oppressors
eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with
wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your
Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Isaiah 58:6 -
“Is not this the kind of
fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the
cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Isaiah 58:9 -
Then you will call, and the
LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
“If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger
and malicious talk,
Isaiah 58:10 -
and if you spend yourselves in
behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your
light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the
noonday.
Luke 4:18-19 -
“The Spirit
of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed
me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year
of the Lord’s favor.”
James 5:1-6 -
Now listen, you rich people,
weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth
has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are
corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh
like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you
failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against
you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord
Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You
have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.
You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing
you.
2 Peter 2:9 - if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue
godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of
judgment, while continuing their punishment.
Examples
of prayer in the bible:
1. Jesus Prays
to Be Glorified -
John 17:1-5
After Jesus
said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify
you.
For you granted him authority over all people that he might
give eternal life to all those you have given him.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and
Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have
brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.
And now, Father, glorify
me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world
began.
Jesus Prays for His
Disciples -
John 17:6-19
“I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They
were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
Now they know that everything you have given me comes from
you. For I gave them the words you gave me and
they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and
they believed that you sent me. I pray for
them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me,
for they are yours.
All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has
come to me through them. I will remain in the
world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to
you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the
name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.
While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by
that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to
destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. “I am coming to you
now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they
may have the full measure of my joy within them.
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for
they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that
you protect them from the evil one. They are
not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth;
your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the
world. For them I sanctify myself, that they
too may be truly sanctified.
Jesus Prays for All Believers -
John 17:20-26
“My
prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in
me through their message,
that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in
you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have
sent me.
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be
one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so
that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know
that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to
see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before
the creation of the world.
“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know
you, and they know that you have sent me. I
have made you known to them, and will continue to make you
known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I
myself may be in them.”
2. Hannah's Prayer -
1 Samuel 2:1-10
Then Hannah prayed and
said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is
lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your
deliverance. “There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one
besides you; there is no Rock like our God. “Do not keep talking so
proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God
who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. “The bows of the warriors are
broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength. Those who were
full hire themselves out for food, but those who were hungry are hungry
no more. She who was barren has borne seven children, but she who has
had many sons pines away. “The LORD brings death and makes alive; he
brings down to the grave and raises up. The LORD sends poverty and
wealth; he humbles and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and
lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has
them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the earth are
the LORD’s; on them he has set the world. He will guard the feet of his
faithful servants, but the wicked will be silenced in the place of
darkness. “It is not by strength that one prevails; those who oppose the
LORD will be broken. The Most High will thunder from heaven; the LORD
will judge the ends of the earth. “He will give strength to his king and
exalt the horn of his anointed.”
3. Prayer of Jabez -
1 Chronicles
4:10 -
Jabez cried out to the
God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!
Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free
from pain.” And God granted his request.
4.
Hezekiah's Prayer -
Isaiah 37:14-20
Hezekiah received the
letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of
the LORD and spread it out before the LORD. And Hezekiah prayed to the
LORD: “LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim,
you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made
heaven and earth. Give ear, LORD, and hear; open your eyes, LORD, and
see; listen to all the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living
God. “It is true, LORD, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste all
these peoples and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire
and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone,
fashioned by human hands. Now, LORD our God, deliver us from his hand,
so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are the
only God.”
5. Jeremiah's Prayer -
Jeremiah 10:23-25
LORD, I know that
people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their
steps. Discipline me, LORD, but only in due measure— not in your anger,
or you will reduce me to nothing. Pour out your wrath on the nations
that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your
name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely
and destroyed his homeland.
6.
Daniel's Prayer -
Daniel 9:1-19
In the
first year of Darius son of Xerxes (a Mede by descent), who
was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom— in the first year
of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to
the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation
of Jerusalem would last seventy years. So I turned to the Lord God and
pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth
and ashes. I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed: “Lord, the great
and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him
and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been
wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and
laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in
your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the
people of the land. “Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are
covered with shame—the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem
and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have
scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you. We and our kings, our
princes and our ancestors are covered with shame, LORD, because we have
sinned against you. The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even
though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the LORD our God
or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets. All
Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.
“Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses,
the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned
against you. You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against
our rulers by bringing on us great disaster. Under the whole heaven
nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem. Just as
it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet
we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our
sins and giving attention to your truth. The LORD did not hesitate to
bring the disaster on us, for the LORD our God is righteous in
everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. “Now, Lord our
God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who
made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we
have done wrong. Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn
away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy
hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem
and your people an object of scorn to all those around us. “Now,
our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake,
Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. Give ear, our God, and
hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your
Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but
because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and
act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your
people bear your Name.”
7. Jonah's Prayer -
Jonah 2:1-9
From
inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. He said: “In my
distress I called to the LORD,
and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for
help, and you listened to my cry. You hurled me into the depths, into
the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves and breakers swept over me. I said, ‘I have been banished
from your sight;
yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ The engulfing waters
threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my
head. To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath
barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the
pit. “When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD, and my
prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. “Those who cling to worthless
idols turn away from God’s love for them. But I, with shouts of grateful
praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I
will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’”
8.
Habakkuk's Prayer -
Habakkuk 3:1-19 - A
prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. On shigionoth.
LORD, I
have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them
in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. God
came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the
heavens and his praise filled the earth. His splendor was like the
sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague
went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the
earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains
crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed— but he marches on forever. I
saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
Were you angry with the rivers, LORD? Was your wrath against the
streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode your horses and your
chariots to victory? You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows.
You split the earth with rivers; the mountains saw you and writhed.
Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on
high. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your
flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear. In wrath you
strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations. You came
out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the
leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot.
With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to
scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in
hiding.
You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters. I
heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept
into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the
day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree
does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop
fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the
pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will
be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes
my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

* There are many
different ways God communicates to us:
For example:
Through audible voice, His Word, the Holy Spirit, spiritual
visions and dreams, angels, godly people (His faithful remnant) and
sometimes circumstances (may be God's doing, depending on the situation,
must be careful to analyze and investigate thoroughly).
Jeremiah 33:3 -
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things
you do not know.’
Acts 2:17-20 -
“‘In the last days,
God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters
will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream
dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit
in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens
above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The
sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of
the great and glorious day of the Lord.
INTIMACY WITH GOD - OUR
SPIRITUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD |
Our
relationship with God must be built up and developed and requires time,
passion, devotion, dedication, commitment, patience and perseverance as we
allow God's Holy Spirit, which is the power of God, to help, lead, guide,
strengthen and perfect our relationship with Him.
God's True Church (the bride of Christ) are to study the Word of God so
that we will be fully equipped with knowledge and be prepared, alert and
ready for the return of Christ (the bridegroom) as illustrated by the
'Parable of the ten young bridesmaids.'
Matthew 25:1-13 -
“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten
bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the
bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and
five were wise. The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for
their lamps, but the other five were wise
enough to take along extra oil. When the
bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At
midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming!
Come out and meet him!’ “All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their
lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some
of your oil because our lamps are going out.’ “But the others replied, ‘We
don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for
yourselves.’ “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came.
Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the
door was locked. Later, when the other five
bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the
door for us!’ “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’ “So
you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my
return.
(New Living Translation)
No one
knows the day or hour of Christ's Return, nor Jesus Himself, nor the
angels, only God Our Father.
The scripture in Luke 12 describes how Christ's Return will happen
unexpectedly and we are to be watchful and always ready for our
bridegroom.
Luke 12:35-40 -
“Be dressed for service and keep
your lamps burning,
as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding
feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment
he arrives and knocks. The servants who are
ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth,
he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and
eat! He may come in the middle of the night
or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the
servants who are ready. “Understand this:
If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit
his house to be broken into.
You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man
will come when least expected.”
(New Living Translation)
We are in training now to live the Kingdom life, a life of godliness,
holiness, purity, truth and righteousness so that we may inherit the
Kingdom of God. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit and live a life
of self-sacrifice as we allow God to be first love and number one priority
in our lives.
The Bible tells us that those who do the will of God and are living
according to God's word with obedience to His commands WILL inherit the
Kingdom of God, while those who are living a life of idolatry, impurity,
sexual immorality, debauchery and drunkenness, among other sins, WILL NOT
inherit the Kingdom of God (see 1 Cor 6:9 & Gal 5:19-21).
The first step in beginning a spiritual relationship with God is true,
heartfelt repentance. (Please proceed to repentance and deliverance
pages once you've read this page).
The
qualities to display in our relationship with God
The qualities that we strengthen, develop and display in our
relationship with God through allowing Him to transform us by His power,
are:
1) LOVE
* Firstly, God's love
for us is everlasting:
Psalm 100:5
- For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness
continues through all generations.
Psalm 106:1 - Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for
he is good; his love endures forever.
Psalm 136:4 - to him who alone does great wonders, His love
endures forever.
God demonstrated His
love for us by sending His one and only begotten divine, precious, Holy
Son, who willingly gave His life for us for the forgiveness of our sins,
because God's Law requires the shedding of blood for the redemption of
sins and no greater love has any man than to give His life for his
friends:
Hebrews 9:22
- In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood,
and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Romans 5:8 -
But God
demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
* The greatest commandment is to love the Lord Our God with all our heart,
mind, soul and strength. Therefore, God must always be first love and
number one priority and our relationship with and love for God is
everlasting (lasts forever).
Deuteronomy 6:5 - Love the LORD your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Mark 12:30 -
Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your
strength.’
* This means
one cannot love both God and the world.
1 John 2:15-17 - Do not love the world or anything in the
world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his
eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father
but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who
does the will of God lives forever.
* We demonstrate our love for God by obeying His commands, which are
universal, for both Jews and Gentiles.
1 John 5:3 -
This is love for God: to
obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
John 14:15 -
“If you love me, you will obey what I command.
* We also demonstrate our love for God through open and honest
communication,
where we pour out our hearts in earnest, heartfelt prayer and share our
innermost feelings, thoughts and emotions.
Colossians 4:2 - Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful
and thankful.
* When we love God, we focus totally on Him and we want to find out more
about Him in His Word (the truth).
Therefore, we study and grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the
Bible.
Both the Old and New Testaments apply today, otherwise Jesus would not
have quoted from the Book of Isaiah when He was in the Synagogue on the
Sabbath and the Old Testament Laws are elaborated in the New Testament.
Luke 4:16-19 -
He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath
day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to
read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he
found the place where it is written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim
the year of the Lord’s favor.”
2) PASSION
* There are 2
kinds of Passion:
Godly:
* Passion for God includes being filled with zeal and enthusiasm for Him
and delighting in Him, His Word and His mighty works:
Psalm 1:2 - But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and
on his law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 37:4 - Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give
you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 119:47 - for I delight in your commands because
I love them.
Psalm 119:77 - Let your compassion come to me that I may
live, for your law is my delight.
Romans 7:22 - For in my inner being I delight in
God’s law;
Romans 12:11 - Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your
spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Worldly:
* The Bible teaches us to avoid foolish, evil and sinful worldly passions
such as impurities, sexual immorality and debauchery, and not to delight in
wickedness and this includes what the media promotes through filthy,
vulgar and intrusive advertising, lyrics, magazines, tv programs, internet
websites and radio broadcast. Also, avoiding these activities will not
open doors for demonic activity in one's life.
Titus
2:11-12 - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared
to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
* Those who belong
to Christ and live by the spirit have no struggles with temptation because
God's Holy Spirit helps us to resist temptation, through prayer and
fasting, and I, for example, don't love the world
and I've left the world and the past, behind me many years ago (ancient
dinosaur era),
and have put on the new self created to be like Christ in true
righteousness and holiness, and live a life of abstinence in all aspects
Eph 4:24, and this includes abstinence from filthy world
abominations, such as TV and radio.
Galatians 5:24 - Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified
the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God will continue to sin,
because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has
been born of God.
3) DEVOTION
* Devotion means
great love and zeal for God and that is, complete devotion.
* We demonstrate how much devotion we have for God by the amount of time
we spend in prayer, fasting, Bible study and serving Him, how we obey His
Commands and how we live our lives in obedience to His Laws and Commands.
Ezra is a good
example of devotion:
Ezra
7:10 - For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of
the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.
Colossians 4:2 - Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and
thankful.
* We must choose who we will serve and I will serve the Lord my God:
Matthew 6:24 - “No one can serve two masters. Either he will
hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and
despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
* This means, we submit to God, please Him and do His will alone.
4) FAITH
* The definition of
faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things unseen and
we please God with our faith. In other words, it is a strong belief in the
things that are unseen. This means, that we know our prayers are powerful
and effective because we trust in God and therefore we walk by faith in
God's Word (spiritual food) and not by sight (physical evidence).
Hebrews 11:1 -
Now faith is being sure of
what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:6 -
And without faith it is
impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
* Scripture teaches us
that nothing is impossible for those who believe:
Matthew 17:20 - He replied, “Because you have so little
faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you. ”
John 14:12 -
I tell
you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.
He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the
Father.
* We always ask God to strengthen our faith, in prayer.
5) FAITHFULNESS (LOYALTY)
* Faithfulness means
being true, loyal, devoted and dedicated to God.
* God is faithful to us and we likewise must remain loyal and faithful to
God.
1
Corinthians 1:9 - God, who has called you into fellowship with his
Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
* Idolatry is
forbidden in God's Word and remaining faithful to God means that we obey
His commands, and get rid of any physical household items that are sinful,
evil and will open the door for demonic activity, and will hinder our
relationship with God.
For example, burn sorcery books, shred magazines, smash statues and radio/tv
to pieces.
As we read in Leviticus 26, the punishments and afflictions are multiplied
seven times over,
for disobedience to God's commands, rejecting His decrees and abhoring His
Laws, for example:
Leviticus
26:1-2 - “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred
stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow
down before it. I am the LORD your God. “‘Observe my Sabbaths and
have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
Leviticus 26:18 -
“‘If after all
this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven
times over.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - Flee from sexual immorality. All other
sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins
against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the
Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not
your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
*
We demonstrate our faithfulness to God by asking Him to help us
avoid sin, especially the gravest sins in God's eyes with the heaviest of
penalties which are for example, idolatry and sexual immorality, impurity
and drunkenness which leads to debauchery.
There are warnings and lessons to be learnt from Israel's History:
1 Corinthians
10:5 - Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their
bodies were scattered over the desert.
1 Corinthians 10:6-10 -
Now these things
occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil
things as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is
written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in
pagan revelry.” We should not commit sexual immorality, as some
of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. We should
not test the Lord, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes. And do
not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.
There are sins that lead to death:
1 John 5:16 -
If anyone sees his
brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God
will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death.
There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray
about that.
Christ gives a strong warning: 'Repent or Perish,' in
Luke 13:2-5:
Jesus answered,
“Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other
Galileans because they suffered this way? I
tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you
think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?
I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too
will all perish.”
* This includes remaining faithful in prayer, which means persevering in
true, open, honest communication with God.
Romans 12:12 - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
6)
HONESTY/TRUTHFULNESS
* Being open and
sincere where we pour out our innermost feelings and emotions to God is
crucial in answered prayer:
Psalm 15:1-2 - LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live
on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is
righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart
Psalm 24:3-4 -
Who may ascend the hill of
the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a
pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is
false.
Psalm 145:18 - The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all
who call on him in truth.
God will test and examine
our hearts to see if we are truly serious in our spiritual relationship
with Him and whether we walk continually in His truth and He rewards us:
1 Chronicles 29:17 - I know, my God, that you test the heart
and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly
and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your
people who are here have given to you.
Psalm 26:2-3 - Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my
heart and my mind; for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually
in your truth.
Jeremiah 17:10 - “I the LORD search the heart and examine
the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his
deeds deserve.”
God will teach us His ways and by studying His Word we will learn about
the truth.
Truth is found in the scriptures and nowhere else.
Psalm 86:11 - Teach me your way,
O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I
may fear your name.
7) TRUST
* Trust means that we rely on and depend on God and we have confidence and
hope in Him and in His Mighty Power because He always fulfills His
promises to us and will see us through in any situation or circumstance.
* The following verses are an illustration of a blessed man who will
be prosperous and secure because he trusts in the LORD and one who is
cursed because he trusts in man.
Jeremiah 17:5-8 -
This is what the LORD says:
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his
strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush
in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell
in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in
him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots
by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always
green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear
fruit.”
Psalm 40:4 - Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his
trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false
gods.
* We do not
trust in anything physical. For example, money, wealth, possessions or man
because the physical things of this world are temporal and passing away
and do not provide any long lasting happiness, peace or satisfaction.
Otherwise, if they did, then people would not keep on searching for
happiness in their lives. But they are looking in all the wrong places,
because true, eternal happiness comes only from God and His promises which
He fulfills to us and they are contained in His Word.
Psalm 20:7-8 - Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their
knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
Proverbs 11:28 - Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but
the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
Isaiah 42:17 - But those who trust in idols, who say to
images, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned back in utter shame.
* Trusting God is crucial in answered prayers:
1 Chronicles 5:20
- They were helped in fighting them, and God handed the Hagrites and all
their allies over to them, because they cried out to him during the
battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.
8) COMMITMENT AND
DEDICATION
* Our lives must be
totally committed to God. For example, I've committed my life to God and
serving Him alone and I live a life of abstinence (in all aspects), as I
have been called and chosen and set apart to serve Almighty God, according
to His plan and purpose, in the unique mission and work that He has set
before me and prepared in advance for me to do, which I call mighty work
for Almighty God! The best, greatest and most important work is serving
the Creator God and I will serve Him with all my heart, mind, soul and
strength and dedicate all my time and strength that God supplies me with
in serving Him and He will provide me with everything I need in order to
fulfill my mission. God is the best promoter as He multiplies and displays
His awesome miraculous signs and wonders to confirm everything I say in my
ministry. (I don't listen to any discouraging comments and what anyone
says about my ministry because I trust in God that He has anointed me for
mighty work, and there are people who are scared to death of the impact my
ministry is having around the globe (and they think that discouraging
comments will make me stop) and the
perplexed look on their faces gives them away.
But I would like to reassure you that I will NEVER quit!).
* Our hearts must be right with God and commitment requires
self-sacrifice, where we deny self, which means avoid the sinful, foolish
and evil pleasures of this world, take up our cross and follow Christ
where we become more like Him.
* God will eliminate anything or anyone, including hindrances, obstacles,
disruptions and distractions that will interfere in our relationship with
Him and we must do our part in removing physical items from the house in
what I call 'physical household cleaning' which I give instructions on how
to do on this page (This requires effort on our part, because God will
not physically remove statues, the filthy tv/radio, magazines and other
abominations).
1 Kings 8:61
- But your hearts must be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by
his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.”
Proverbs 16:3 - Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed.
Luke 13:24 -
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell
you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
9) COMMUNICATION
* 2 way Communication
is vital in our relationship with God.
* It is crucial that when God speaks to us (in different ways and for
different reasons) we listen to Him and when we speak to God in prayer, we
pour out our innermost feelings and emotions and He is attentive to our
prayers and answers us according to His will, plan, purpose and timing.
1 Peter 3:12 - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is
against those who do evil.”
* There are many different ways in which God communicates to us.
In the Old Testament, God spoke through miraculous signs and wonders,
visions, dreams, audible voice, Holy Spirit, His servants, prophets and
angels.
Let's look at a few examples:
1) Miraculous signs and wonders to
save
and rescue
out of situations:
Daniel 6:27
- He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens
and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
2) Angels
urged
lot to leave the sinful city that God was about to destroy by raining down
burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah:
Genesis 19:1
- [ Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed ] The two angels arrived at Sodom in the
evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them,
he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
3) Jacob's
dream
at Bethel:
Genesis 28:12
- He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its
top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and
descending on it.
4) Prophets and
seers:
2 Kings 17:13
- The LORD warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers:
“Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance
with the entire Law that I commanded your fathers to obey and that I
delivered to you through my servants the prophets.”
5)
Holy Spirit:
Matthew 3:17 - And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son,
whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
6)
Audible Voice:
John 9:29 - We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this
fellow, we don’t even know where he comes from.”
In the last days, although God speaks mainly through spiritual visions and
dreams, as mentioned in the New Testament, I also believe He speaks
through miraculous signs and wonders:
1) Visions and Dreams:
Acts 2:17-18 -
“‘In the last days, God
says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters
will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream
dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit
in those days, and they will prophesy.
2)
Miracles, Signs and
Wonders:
He displays His mighty power for people to
pay attention:
Acts 2:19-20 - I will show wonders in the heaven above and
signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun
will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the
great and glorious day of the Lord.
Hebrews 2:4
- God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and
gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
Jesus ministry in order to
know
and
understand
about the Father and the Son:
John
10:38 - But if I do it, even
though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and
understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
Through
Paul's ministry as
evidence
and for credibility:
Acts
19:11-12 - God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that
even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick,
and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
* There are many
different reasons why and how God communicates to us:
For example:
1) God
warns
people to turn away from their sins and repent and He also punishes to
show his anger, to humble and discipline us, test us, or to instill the
fear of Him through extreme weather, such as floods,
droughts, fire,
earthquakes, waves, thunder, lightning, rain and storms like hailstorms
and wind storms like tornadoes
(see beliefs page - weather)
Job 20:28 -
A flood will carry off his
house, rushing waters on the day of God’s wrath.
2 Peter 2:5-6 - if he did not spare the ancient world when
he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher
of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom
and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is
going to happen to the ungodly;
2) God
warns
people to turn from evil ways and
keep His Commandments
through prophets and seers:
2 Kings 17:13
- The LORD warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers:
“Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance
with the entire Law that I commanded your fathers to obey and that I
delivered to you through my servants the prophets.”
2 Kings 17:22-23 - The Israelites persisted in all
the sins of Jeroboam and did not turn away from them until the LORD
removed them from his presence, as he had warned through all his servants
the prophets. So the people of Israel were taken from their homeland into
exile in Assyria, and they are still there.
3) God
informs of His decrees and laws through His servants:
Exodus 18:15-16 -
Moses answered him,
“Because the people come to me to seek God’s will. Whenever they have a
dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform
them of God’s decrees and laws.”
4) God
instructs
and
teaches
the right way:
Isaiah 28:26
- His God instructs him and teaches him the right way.
5) God
instructs about His
Laws and Commands
directly or through His servants:
Exodus
24:12 - The LORD said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and
stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and
commands I have written for their instruction.”
Psalm 25:12 - Who, then, is the man that fears the
LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
6) God
teaches lessons - For
example, that man does not live on bread alone, but by every word that God
speaks:
Deuteronomy 8:3 - He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then
feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to
teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that
comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Psalm 25:9
- He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
Psalm 32:8 - I will instruct you and teach you in
the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
7) The LORD
guides
us always and in the way that is best for us:
Isaiah 58:11
- The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a
sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a
well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
8) The LORD
guides us through His
Word:
Psalm 119:105
- Your
word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
9) The LORD
guides
us in all truth through His Holy Spirit, also called, comforter,
counselor, helper and teacher:
John 14:16-17 -
And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—
the Spirit of truth.
The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 16:13 - But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes,
he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will
speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Psalm 25:5 - guide me in your truth and teach me, for
you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 48:14 -
For this God is our God for
ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
10) God
strengthens
us to continue steadfast in the faith:
Isaiah
40:29-31 - He gives strength to the weary and increases the power
of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and
fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will
soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will
walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be
dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will
uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Philippians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives
me strength.
11)
Encourage and
strengthen through the Holy Spirit (the Power of God):
Acts 9:31
- Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of
peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in
numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.
12)
Help and Rescue:
God allows certain situations to happen and helps and rescues us out of
them, in order for Him to demonstrate His mighty power and make His Name
known throughout the world:
Joshua 9:9-10
- They answered: “Your servants have come from a very distant country
because of the fame of the LORD your God. For we have heard reports of
him: all that he did in Egypt, and all that he did to the two kings of the
Amorites east of the Jordan—Sihon king of Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan,
who reigned in Ashtaroth.
Psalm 106:8 - Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make
his mighty power known.
Habakkuk 3:2 - LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in
awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them
known; in wrath remember mercy.
Daniel 6:27 -
He
rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on
the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
Christ demonstrated His power through
healing.
For example, the man born blind:
John 9:3 -
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus,
“but this happened so that the work of God might
be displayed in his life.
13)
The LORD provides
comfort in trouble
through various signs. For example, by putting our enemies to shame:
Psalm 23:4 - Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and
your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 86:17 -
Give me a sign of your
goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, O LORD,
have helped me and comforted me.
10) REVERENCE/HONOR/RESPECT/AWE
* Awe means respect
with godly fear and wonder and our lives must be filled with awe for God
and His commands.
Deuteronomy 13:4 - It is the LORD your God you must follow,
and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and
hold fast to him.
Hebrews 12:28 - Therefore, since we are receiving a
kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God
acceptably with reverence and awe,
* We must respect God's will, plan, purpose and timing in answer to our
prayers.
* All people must revere the Lord and give Him the respect that is
due Him alone and never take for granted the beautiful blessings that he
bestows on the earth including the air for us to breathe, the rain and
sunshine for the crops to grow, so that we may have food on the table and
all the other gifts that come from Him, because God can withhold these
provisions at any time.
11) UNITY/HARMONY
* In order for us to
be united and in harmony with God, we submit to God and His Laws and when
we draw closer to Him, He will draw nearer to us.
Hebrews 10:22 - let us draw near to God with a sincere heart
in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from
a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
James 4:7 - Submit yourselves,
then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
* Scripture tells us that there is nothing in common, no fellowship and no
agreement between believer and unbeliever and bad company corrupts a
person and there is no fellowship between God and satan and the world and
the things of this world will draw one further away from God.
Therefore we are to separate ourselves from unbelievers as it is
impossible to be a friend of God and a friend of the world.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 - Do not be yoked together with
unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or
what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there
between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an
unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?
For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live
with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be
my people.” “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the
Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father
to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
12) PATIENCE
* Patience means that
we wait on God and persist in our relationship with Him, (which includes
perseverance in prayer), despite any trial or difficult circumstance,
believing that God will rescue us out of any situation and fulfill His
promises to us because He never changes His mind.
Psalm 38:15 - I wait for you, O LORD; you will
answer, O Lord my God.
* Our relationship with God requires patience to build, develop and
strengthen.
* God is patient with us and we must be patient with Him and this means we
love Him.
Romans
8:25 - But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it
patiently.
Romans 12:12 - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
Psalm 37:34 - Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will
exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see
it.
Isaiah 30:18 - Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he
rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed
are all who wait for him!
Isaiah 64:4 - Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear
has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of
those who wait for him.
13) PERSEVERANCE
* Perseverance means to continue steadfastly in our relationship with God,
under any circumstance, with prayer, soberness, watchfulness, vigilance,
being alert and self-controlled and filled with the Holy Spirit. It is
crucial that we do not give up and walk by faith and
not by sight.
* The 'Parable of the
Sower' in Luke
8:1-15, best
illustrates the different kinds of situations that God
allows to come our way, (He does not send Himself), including
for example, trouble, persecution, worries and temptations, in order to
test our faith, faithfulness, perseverance, motivation and obedience to
His commands and how we persevere in our relationship with God.
God has helped me to persevere by rescuing me out of difficult
circumstances and dangerous life and death situations.
It is crucial that we live a life of self-sacrifice and avoid the
pleasures of this world if we are to bear much fruit. In the last
days, there will be the end of what people call "good times." Therefore
this is your inspiration to persevere.
There are 4 different categories and the seed is the Word of God:
1. Sown along the path - Hears the message about the Kingdom of God
and does not understand it or lacks faith to be saved. This happens
because the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.
2. Fell on rocky places - Hears and receive the Word joyfully, but
the Word of God has no root in Him and so lasts only for a moment or a
short while, during trouble or persecution.
3. Fell among thorns - Hears the Word but he does not bear fruit
because the worries of this life, pleasures and deceitfulness of wealth
choke the message.
4. Fell on good soil - Hears the Word and understands it and by
persevering bears much fruit.
In order for the Word of God to take root there will be extensive trials
to test us in many different areas in our lives and God will rescue the
godly from trials and hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while
continuing their punishment.
Psalm 91:14-16
- “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will
protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will
answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor
him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
By persevering, we will be in the category of the good seeds that fell on
good soil and therefore we will bear much fruit in our lives and in our
ministry.
Matthew 13:23 -
But
the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears
the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty
or thirty times what was sown.”
Luke
8:15 -
But
the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who
hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
* The 'Parable of the Persistent Widow' in
Luke 18:1-8,
also illustrates how perseverance is crucial in answered prayer
and how much more will
God who is just and righteous grant justice to his elect, (if a corrupt
judge granted a persistent widow justice).
* Remember: God will grant justice quickly to His elect and will
punish all oppressors and persecutors.
Psalm 9:9 -
The LORD is a
refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Psalm 103:6 -
The LORD works
righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
* We are promised other rewards for perseverance (Please read promise
page).
For example:
Crown of life:
James 1:12 -
Blessed is the man who
perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will
receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
Salvation:
Hebrews 10:39 - But we are not of those who shrink back and
are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
Kingdom of God:
Acts
14:22 - strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain
true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom
of God,” they said.
Eternal Life:
Romans 2:7 -
To those who by persistence
in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal
life.
14) ENDURANCE
* Endurance means
stamina. In other words, we, by the Power of God, survive any hardships
that may come our way while persevering in our relationship with God
without wavering in our faith and our endurance is inspired by hope in Our
Lord Jesus Christ.
2
Timothy 2:3 -
Endure hardship with
us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
* Enduring
hardship is a form of discipline and therefore we endure patiently any
trials, persecutions or difficult circumstances that God may allow to come
our way.
* God disciplines all those whom He loves and accepts as His sons.
Hebrews 12:6
-
because the Lord disciplines
those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”
15) TIME
* Since
our relationship with God is most important in our lives, we will be
devoting our time in seeking, finding God and learning more about Him, His
attributes, qualities and characteristics, His commands, His will for our
lives, How to please God and serve Him and how He desires a relationship
with us.
Jeremiah 29:13
- You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
We will begin to grow
spiritually, in wisdom, knowledge and understanding and mature in our
faith as we seek the LORD through prayer, fasting and studying His Word.
This requires commitment, time, patience and perseverance.
THERE
ARE MANY WAYS IN WHICH WE PRAISE AND WORSHIP GOD:
* Powerful spiritual
weapons against Satan and the whole kingdom of darkness:
1) Prayer
* Prayer is the most
powerful spiritual weapon in a Christian's life.
Ephesians
6:18 -
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and
requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the
saints.
2) Fasting
* Fasting combined
with prayer has an even more powerful effect than prayer alone.
* Fasting has an atomic bomb effect on the devil (satan).
Matthew
6:16 - [
Fasting ] "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they
disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth,
they have received their reward in full.
3) Music
* Another powerful
spiritual weapon where we praise and worship God and the devil flees.
Psalm
150
- Praise the LORD. Praise
God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his
acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the
sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with
tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him
with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let
everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
4) With Our Bodies
* Glorifying God
with our bodies means avoid immorality and toxic substances such as
cigarettes, alcohol, drugs and gluttony (overeating and drinking).
1
Corinthians 6:19-20 -
Do you not know that your body
is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from
God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God
with your body.
5) With Our
Lifestyles
* Living a life of
self-sacrifice (as
disciples of Christ).
* Avoiding
self-indulgence
(e.g. excessive alcohol) which leads to debauchery and other sins.
Luke 14:27 - And anyone who
does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Ephesians 5:18 - Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to
debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
What is praise and worship?
* Praise means to exalt and glorify God and magnify His Name.
* There are many forms of praise and worship and we honor and adore
God in many different ways: For example: through prayer, fasting,
music, with our bodies and lifestyles.
How powerful is it?
* Praise
and worship is another powerful spiritual weapon against Satan and the whole
kingdom of darkness. The devil flees!
How
to praise and worship God?
* There are biblical references to the posture used for worship:
* Bowing down (we always bow forward)
Genesis 24:48 - and I bowed down and worshiped the LORD. I
praised the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me on the right
road to get the granddaughter of my master’s brother for his son.
*
Lifting our hands and faces to the ground:
Nehemiah 8:6 - Ezra praised the LORD, the great God;
and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they
bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
When
do we praise and worship God?
* We praise God
for His Awesome Wonders:
Deuteronomy 10:21 - He is the one you praise; he is your
God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your
own eyes.
*
The trumpet was used
in battle:
Numbers 10:9 - When you go into battle in your own land
against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then
you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies.
* When God
rescues us:
Daniel 3:28 - Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to
the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and
rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and
were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god
except their own God.
* From sunrise
to sunset:
1
Chronicles 23:30 -
They were also to
stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD. They were to do the same
in the evening.
Psalm 113:3 -
From the rising of the sun to
the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.
* Seven times a day:
Psalm 119:164 - Seven times a day I praise you for
your righteous laws.
* In Festivals:
2
Chronicles 30:21 - The Israelites who were present in Jerusalem
celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great
rejoicing, while the Levites and priests praised the LORD every day with
resounding instruments dedicated to the LORD.
* In
thanksgiving:
Psalm 147:7 - Sing to the LORD with grateful praise;
make music to our God on the harp.
Isaiah 12:4 - In that day you will say: “Give praise
to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has
done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
* Now
and forevermore:
Psalm 113:2 -
Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore.
Instruments
in praise and worship?
* There are many references to instruments used in praise and
worship music:
Harp:
Isaiah 30:32 - Every stroke the LORD lays on them with
his punishing club will be to the music of timbrels and harps, as he
fights them in battle with the blows of his arm.
Lyre:
Job 30:31 - My lyre is tuned to mourning, and my pipe
to the sound of wailing.
Trumpets and cymbals:
2 Chronicles 5:13 - The trumpeters and musicians
joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied
by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their
voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures
forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with the cloud,
Harp and ten-stringed lyre:
Psalm 33:2 -
Praise the LORD with
the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Timbrel and
harp:
Psalm 149:3 - Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
Pipe:
Psalm 150:4 - praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
Cymbals:
Psalm 150:5
- praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding
cymbals.
Psaltery:
Psalm 33:2
-
Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an
instrument of ten strings. (KJV)
Tambourines:
Psalm 81:2 - Begin the music,
strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre.
Organ:
Genesis 4:21 - And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the
father of all such as handle the harp and organ. (KJV)
Lute:
2 Chronicles 20:28 - They entered Jerusalem and went
to the temple of the LORD with harps and lutes and trumpets.
What is fasting?
*
Fasting is an act of worship where we show God that we are totally
dependent on him and that we need God's Holy Spirit to help, lead
and guide us every step in our lives.
* Helps us to press on forward in our spiritual goals which are
building and developing our relationship with the Lord our God who
is eternal (rather than the physical things that are fading away)
and therefore the bond in our spiritual relationship with the Lord
becomes stronger and God hears our prayers when He is number one in
our lives, before anything or anyone else.
* Devoting ourselves to prayer and fasting, demonstrates to God that
He is our first love and that we focus on Him and the spiritual (not
worldly things), loving Him with all our heart, mind, soul and
strength.
* We start to grow spiritually and mature in the faith.
* Also, a form of self-discipline and helps us to resist
temptations.
How powerful is fasting?
* Prayer in combination with
fasting is the most powerful spiritual weapon in a Christian's life
and has an atomic bomb effect on satan and the whole kingdom of
darkness; and gives us all kinds of victories including victory over
all enemies - human and demonic, and over the world.
* I
believe fasting also speeds the answers to our prayers.
What kinds of fasting are
there?
SUPERNATURAL FASTING
-
Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights in the desert with no
food or water.
Matthew 4:1-2 -
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the
devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
ABSOLUTE FASTING -
The Jews in Susa fasted for three days and nights with
no food or water.
Esther 4:16 -
“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me.
Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my
attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the
king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
PARTIAL FASTING - Daniel fasted with no meat or wine for three weeks.
Daniel 10:2-3 -
At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. I ate no choice
food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all
until the three weeks were over.
Why
fast?
The Bible mentions when you
fast, not if you fast, meaning God commands fasting in the Bible:
Matthew 6:16
- [ Fasting ] “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites
do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting.
Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.[ Fasting
] “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they
disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell
you, they have received their reward in full.
Some demons will come out only by prayer in combination with
fasting:
Matthew 17:21 (KJV) -
Howbeit this kind goeth not out
but by prayer and fasting.
Mark 9:29 (KJV) - And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by
nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
To inquire of the Lord:
2 Chronicles 20:3 -
Alarmed, Jehoshaphat
resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all
Judah.
For humility and specific requests in prayer:
Ezra 8:21 -
There, by the Ahava
Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before
our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with
all our possessions.
verse 23 - So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and
he answered our prayer.
When
to fast?
* There are many
different occasions mentioned in the Bible:
For example:
In mourning
1 Samuel 31:13 -
Then they took their bones and buried them under a tamarisk tree at
Jabesh, and they fasted seven days.
1 Chronicles 10:12 - all their valiant men went and took the bodies
of Saul and his sons and brought them to Jabesh. Then they buried
their bones under the great tree in Jabesh, and they fasted seven
days.
Until evening
2 Samuel 1:12 - They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for
Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the LORD and for the
nation of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.
Night and day
Luke 2:37 - and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She
never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and
praying.
In sacred assembly
Joel 1:14 -
Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and
all who live in the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry
out to the LORD.
In appointing elders
Acts 14:23
- Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and,
with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they
had put their trust.
In worship
Acts 13:2-3 -
While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit
said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I
have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed
their hands on them and sent them off.
In prayer and petitions
Daniel 9:3 -
So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and
petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.
In repentance
1 Samuel 7:6 - When they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water
and poured it out before the LORD. On that day they fasted and there
they confessed, “We have sinned against the LORD.” Now Samuel was
serving as leader of Israel at Mizpah.
WHERE TO FAST?
Jesus mentions to fast
privately:
Matthew 6:16-18 - “When you fast, do not look somber as the
hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they
are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in
full. But when you fast, put
oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious
to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is
unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will
reward you.
How
to fast?
The kind of
fasting that God commands is mentioned in Isaiah 58:1-6:
Isaiah 58:1-6 - “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise
your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and
to the descendants of Jacob their sins. For day after day they seek
me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation
that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its
God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come
near them. ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen
it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’ “Yet
on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all
your workers. Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife,
and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you
do today and expect your voice to be heard on high. Is this the kind
of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves?
Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in
sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable
to the LORD? “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to
loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to
set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Do not put on a sad
face to show everyone you are fasting:
Matthew 6:16-18 - “When you fast, do not look somber as the
hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they
are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in
full. But when you fast, put
oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious
to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is
unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will
reward you.
We come to God with a pure and sincere
heart. Rending our heart, not our garments:
Joel
2:12 -
[ Rend Your Heart ]
“Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
Many different kinds of fasting are mentioned in the Bible, for example:
Fasting, weeping and mourning and in sacred assembly:
Joel 2:12 - “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all
your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
verse 15 - Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a
sacred assembly.
With fasting, weeping and wailing, in sackcloth and ashes:
Esther 4:3 - In every province to which the edict and order of the
king came, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting,
weeping and wailing. Many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
verse 16 - “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and
fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and
my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to
the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I
perish.”
By weeping, mourning, fasting and praying:
Nehemiah 1:4 - When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For
some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.
In the old testament, people were presenting burnt offerings and
fellowship offerings in combination with fasting:
Judges 20:26
-
Then all the
Israelites, the whole army, went up to Bethel, and there they sat
weeping before the LORD. They fasted that day until evening and
presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the LORD.
King Ahab fasted by tearing his
clothes and putting on sackcloth:
1 Kings 21:9
- In those letters she
wrote: “Proclaim a day of fasting and seat Naboth in a prominent
place among the people.
verse 12 - They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth in a prominent
place among the people.
verse 27 - When Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes, put
on sackcloth and fasted. He lay in sackcloth and went around meekly.
In repentance, the Israelites fasted by wearing sackcloth and putting dust on
their heads:
Nehemiah 9:1 - On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the
Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and
putting dust on their heads.
For humility and for specific
requests in Prayer:
Ezra 8:21 - There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so
that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe
journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.
verse 23 - So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he
answered our prayer.
